BBI Sherman Tank Question

Post by Hollywoodkbl » Wed Mar 02, 2005 1:08 pm

Anyone out there taken the gear off this tank...does it come off easily, or is it glued on. Also, anyone taken the tank apart to see if it could have a scratch built interior put in it? Does anyone know if the turret attaches like the 21st one? thanks!

Ok, just got this thing out of the box...what a pain in the arse! You need bolt cutters just to get it loose!!!! I flipped it over and no screws....has anyone gotten to the inside of this thing???

as you know by now it is a huge pain to get all the gear off  . And to mask it is tough because there is so much detail it's hard to get clean lines around everything. I haven't taken the turret off but some might have....

Wow, thanks for the tip. I wonder why they bothered to put plugs over where the screws are. I might want to detail my interior at some point, but I don't think I will be pulling the gear off of this one. I like the job they did on the exterior here,... but I love to scratch build interiors on tanks for some reason. What have you done to yours?

The funny thing is that I have both the 21st Winter Sherman and the bbi Sherman out right now and I like the way the 21st is painted much better than the bbi one......

I only have the original 21st one that was released, and I like BBI's better than that one. At least they are two different Shermans. I think the BBI one will be easier to detail the interior...the turret is open... I had to cut out that area on the 21st one, and it was a major pain....
