I wouldn't depend on a Walmart employee to know anything... I was once in a toy isle and overheard two WM employess during the reset ask "what is a hot wheel?"I also spoke to a Toy mananger in one of the stores and she confirmed that after this last round of XD, they won't be getting anymore, and she was quite happy about it..
You'll see, the mid week of November everything that is ready will be dumped in, like last year.

Hmm. There are about 5 P-51's on the tippy top shelf at my neighboord WM. A mix of BBD and Old Crow. Even thugh I stopped collecting 1:18 planes I might have to get some Wallydrone(TM) up on a ladder and see how much they scan for. With all this talk of reduced prices it might make a nice investment for Ebay.

$25 planes here now too...
I saw:
-US Jets (Sabers?)
-Migs
-Mustangs (Japanese kill markings on the side)
-a lone German plane that now the make escapes me, but it has a red sort of starburst paintjob onthe nowse and maybe underneath? Looked sharp regardless and is tempting me...

That's the FW-190 I believe. I have a 1:72 scale version. Damn I forgot to ask about the planes yesterday.Jesse James wrote: -a lone German plane that now the make escapes me, but it has a red sort of starburst paintjob onthe nowse and maybe underneath? That IS NOT an FW-190, but rather the S1 Bf-109G, in the markings of Herman Graff's airplane. I like the sunburst pattern on the nose, but the aircraft lacks some of the finer features that characterized the later XD Bf-109Gs.Jesse James wrote:-a lone German plane that now the make escapes me, but it has a red sort of starburst paintjob onthe nowse and maybe underneath? There were tons of the "Graff" '109Gs in my area that sat around for ever back in 2005-2006. They comparatively sold worse than the FW-190Ds! Further, my stores kept restocking them as opposed to newer items, so they never went away and only at the very end were even discounted. However, after the discounts at the beginning of this year, they finally disappeared.
If you like it, I would get it as they've all but disappeared now

Re: .
I wouldn't doubt it, considering Wal Mart's craptacular distributionmikeg wrote:I believe there was not one graf 109 that crossed the continental divide with the exeption of BCA or member trades/sales

That was indeed the plane. Quite slick and nice looking... I'm tempted if it's there after payday next week to pick one up, but man I just don't have teh space for planes. I'll have to ponder that somewhat I guess.
We had a lot of that particular paintjob I recall, but that's the only one I've seen of late.
For the most part it's jets, jets, jets... And Mustangs galore, which are getting to the point of obnoxious!
The German planes we had all came and went, and I didn't really keep much track on them, but that paintjob was the last one that you still see on occassion. I do recall other paintjobs that sold a bit better though.
I've always had the first ME109 they released around, so I never intended to get another German fighter save for maybe a jet, but now with the discount I'm sort of tempted. I got the Avenger last year at this same WM for $35 (they had TONS for that price and even substantially less at one point) all due to a 50% cut, so maybe I should cave again. I dunno.
