General Blasto's airforce

Post by General Blasto » Sun Sep 23, 2007 12:43 pm

Man I can't believe how fast the planes mount up that I am collecting  When I first started this modeling 6 months ago, I thought a few German planes would make a nice back drop for a German aerodrome to stage a battle. Well I've been cleaning out and getting rid of the empty tank, truck and jeep boxes from out of my storage room and started counting the planes that are in the boxs as well as the few I have out of the boxes in the livingroom on display. Here's how the Allied and axis air forces stack up:

Germany

ME-109s 10 planes
ME-262a 1 plane
FW-190 3 planes
Stuka 3 planes

USA

P-47 7 planes
P-38 2 planes
P-51 1 plane

I couldn't believe how many planes I've collected so far and I know there's a bunch more different P-47s and P-51s out there. I have most of the German planes, but really !?! I think it's really intresting of how many planes were made in 1:18th I know there's more US planes, but I won't collect anything from the Pacific theater. A one theater war takes up too much space the way it is :P General Blasto

Cool! They add up real quick don't they. I sold off all my 1:18 stuff except for a BBI Hurry Home Honey P-51 and Squitch F-86, I just don't have the room so it's 1:32 and 1:72 for me. I only started collecting 1:72 aircraft in July and I already have 20 or so.

You've got to fill out your air force a little more!! That "P-51...1 Plane" needs to read more like "P-51...6 Plane." A Spitfire or two and the RAF P-40 are necessary additions as well. You may also want to consider adding an "Atlantic" TBM Avenger to your collection to hunt those pesky German U-Boats

  Keep on hanging 'em until your ceiling collapses! You may want to go ahead and upgrade to steel beams now. 8) :P

I started with the Spinach 109 and the original green Stuka. I bought them from a guy who owned a hobby shop. Then there was about a 2 month lull and I found out that they were at Toys R Us . After that I have not looked back. That was about 4-5 years ago. Once hooked there is no turning back.

Blood will be lost. Children will cry. Wives will become angerd. And that's only at the Wal-Mart check out. Just think what will happen when the XD goes on sale.
