Paint color for germans
Paint color for germans
Hey fellas, exactly what shade of green are the german uniforms and is it available as an acrylic model paint? I've been doing a lot of customs recently but I need the green of the german uniform to complete some of them. Other colors I've been able to mix but the green seems very hard to come by. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

The Germans that I want to repaint are the first camo guys from the 18 new ones that just came out and a couple of the BOB guys in camo snow uniforms. Jackets with camo pants, etc. I did a few different customs of some of them but I wanted to do a green one. I'll try to post pictures sometimes today when I get them done. Thanks guys!

XF-65 Field Grey(Actually a green) for Mid-Late War Uniforms(Heer) and XF-63 German Grey for early campaign grey, Tamiya Paints. Panzer Lehr HBT Panzer Wraps were closer to Olivegrun than Field Grey IIRC.
but really Uniforms were rarely uniform in color, esp in the later years...different materials and different makers all made variants of standard colors.

Here's the new germans I did. Please tell me what you think!

Sorry for being naive when it comes to painting techniques but dry brushing is when you wipe of most of the paint before right?tosborne3 wrote:Thanks. That dry-brushing works wonders.Col.Pickle wrote:that german in the great coat is awesome!

Yes, that's exactly what dry brushing is.Col.Pickle wrote:Sorry for being naive when it comes to painting techniques but dry brushing is when you wipe of most of the paint before right?tosborne3 wrote:Thanks. That dry-brushing works wonders.

It's red, but the brightness of the flash gave em a pink glow.Panzer_M wrote:The Middle Man in the first pic..Red or Pink Piping?
Trying to figure if you gave him a panzer crusher or if he's Sturmartillerie
might just be my screen is off on the color.
