Dont Forget Valentines Day

Post by lightning2000 » Wed Feb 13, 2008 8:06 pm

Hello All,
Friendly word of advice. Make sure to carve out some of your hobby budget and buy the misses something nice for tomorrow. I can assure you that your better half will remember anytime you fail to acknowledge them on Valentines Day, which will only come back and haunt you when you want to make your next military-related purchase. I've been married 30 years and I can tell you its like buying a life insurance policy for yourself, unless you're prepared to sleep with one eye open for the balance of the year.

This is the first time in some time I won't have that special one to get something for this Valentine's day. Oh well, lets see what I can get on the Bad Cat site with that money I won't be giving to the florist. :D

Haven't ever had to worry about V-day but once. Glad too. Saves me money and honestly, freedom is AWESOME.

Thanks for the reminder Lightning; we already had this conversation at work today and there were some worried faces!

Luckily I am very married and well trained to boot. I have had the card/gift/plans procured for three weeks! Even if I don't get airplanes or tanks from my better half she may overlook my next purchase.

Great tip: buy flowers once a month "just because." That way when you are in the dog house you can bring them home and she can't call you out on trying to buy your way back into her good graces! :D

Yeah, the 50 I spent on flowers would have been nice to spend on a couple of new planes.

Kinda funny... I stopped into a drug store last night to pick up some beer and there were about 15 worried looking guys crowding around what remained of the Valentines Day cards. :D :D :D

Thanks AS. I was on vacation and had some spare time! I am hoping they don't offend anyone as "Nip" is historically accurate but isn't necessarily flattering now a days. I am hoping everyone understands the root word is "Nipponese" which is not too bad. Now that I think about it, should I word-smith this? Feedback please...

well last night's WM trip was fun - one line open and about 20 guys waiting with Flowers in Hand - I already had my card and gift bought but figured -Ill get flowers too - best flowers too $19.99 for a dozen - And I've gone the $49.99 a dozen route too when yonger- but they die just as quick as the WM ones..

luckly I had about a dozen 1:144 panthers for .50 each take home too - not for my wife......
