Thanks Roy for the info on the wing tip tank fins on the F-104s. Your model is great, and I am really looking forward to the "Smoke 2" version. Can I get the first one? :D

Glad to know the German stenciling is correct -- I had already figured it was, as it would be way out of 21c's character for it not to be so 8) Besides, what other language would they use for a German aircraft? Russian? As always, thanks to Roy and 21c for creating such awesome models!

What happened to the rear orange circumferential striping near the tail section? Also, all the 104 G boxes I have seen at WM (East Coast) are the special edition boxes.

Anytime you find this airplane for $50 or less, no hesitating, just buy it while you can. Seeing the prices "demanded" on eBay should be example enough.

That is exactly why I jumped on the one I found for $50 at a small hobby store

The "special edition" box is just that and only available in limited quantities.. :D
Eh, the German 104 comes in only one style box, the grey one. I got one from the show and it is indeed the same one that is at Walmart. Sorry for the deflating news....

Has anyone spotted the German 104 in Southern California Walmarts?

While I like the USAF and GAF Starfighters -- BTW, kudos all-around to the design and production team at 21C -- I'm hoping they'll consider producing a Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) F-104J with markings from 203 Hikotai (Squadron) of 2 Kokudan (Wing) out of Chitose Air Base.

The squadron transitioned from the Starfighter to the Kawasaki Heavy Industries-licensed F-15J Eagle in 1983.
