This may have been brought up and I didn't see it. Anyway I have a little concern on how strong the landing gear struts would be. This will be a heavy model indeed.

if sales are strong it could pave the way for other similar sized aircraft, assuming 21c feels that they have broad enough appeal and lots of repaint potential. An Me-110 is much smaller and was supposed to have been in the works for a couple of years now but i have a feeling it's died on the vine. A Ju-88 would be a good candidate.

However, as we are seeing this year, all things may be possible in time.. ;)

I am pleased as punch. Size doesn't scare me and neither does a 150 price tag for something this cool. Though, as others have said, I wait with trepidation. The Avenger debacle has me a little worried. I like this bird and have dreamt of getting one in xd for a long time. I just hope it doesn't take another 3 years. But, as TTT said, the wings don't fold. And, Jason said the tooling was easier. So, maybe my ship (pun intended) will come in soon.

This beauty will be straight wings. I do believe we'll be getting the B-25 much quicker.

As a dedicated armor guy, I'm already at work prying open my wallet. I also think if the B-25 is in the $120-$150 range, it will be be great.

TTT
Jason thinks that the B-25 will be a lot less then the F-4II.
Now that would be a steal. The B-25 costing less than an F-4... :D :D

Talk about giving the fans a deal. Got to do a gunship version.

I can't wait to see pictures of the B-25. The article on Area 21 said an update to follow. Hope that includes some pictures.

WOW!

I have to say, I'm not a big plane fan. I've got 4 hanging from my ceiling in 1/18 and only 1 did I ever pay full price for (Red Devils F18). All the others (Avenger, F104 and ME-109) I paid $30 or less for.

THIS however, I will have a pre-order in the day that Bad Cat announces pre-order's for it. I MUST HAVE THIS!!

I have a brief comment about discussions on price. This came up first in the F-4 thread and now this one. My opinion is that it's best to remain silent on price and let the manufacturers determine the price. Although this group represents a small percentage of the market, we are still heard and saying things like "I'd pay XXX.XX dollars for it, or It would be worth it, etc." when in fact we don't know what the price will ultimately be will simply help the manufactures set a price. My concern is that such comments MAY help them set it higher than they were originally thinking. Why take the chance and shoot ourselves in the foot like that?

Just my 2 cents, that's all. Not trying to point any fingers at all or stir anything up.

Bring on the B-25 (gunship, please!)!

As the preview shows on the 21C website, the nose will be the canopy gunship type. Like the photos below from the 2004 Nellis Airshow. Maybe 21C will have both styles. I prefer the OD paint scheme over the raw metel scheme myself.

Jason thinks that the B-25 will be a lot less then the F-4II.
With all due respect to Jason's knowledge of the process, that just can't be the case. That would mean $10 more than a P-38? Doubt it.

Who knows what can drive costs up - keeping the wings from sagging, adding a full crew 8) , shipping these beasts from China to the US, and then to retailers...or how bout if they don't go to Wally and are produced in fewer numbers? I agree with those that say let's not speculate just yet..but let's stay realistic..

By the way, this is the first 1:18 plane to have the pilots sit side by side instead of for and aft. This is going to be great. Now in that regard, I would like to see a S-3 Viking and A-6 Intruder.

Jason is right.
years ago when i worked at Ford, we did a cost analysis between a Pinto and a LTD. the Pinto was almost the same cost and Ford was really loosing money on every Pinto, because it sold for less

it will be incredible to display !

what a year ! the SKYRAIDER then the F4 PHANTOMS and now the B 25 !!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure that is a great analogy but I see your point....
Do you think Jason meant cheaper than the AT F4 or the 21C F4?

Thinking about it, is there a reason for this thing to have a really detailed interior? Considering the size, I see most people displaying this hanging from the ceiling, where you can't even see a detailed interior. Seems to me along the lines of the detailed cockpit on BBi's Zero that you can't even see once its assembled (which, to me, was a waste).

I am sure Jason was talking about his F-4. and the costs that they looked at for building a B-25. AT isn't qualified source to determine what the exact price will be. Don't worry more news is on it's way.
No matter what I am sure 21st will make it afforadable. They always do that for us! 8)

Barbi is Hot!

Just like the old monogram Mitchell, a late glassnose can become a B-25H or solid nose B-25J with a nose job.
Now the earlier B-25 with the dorsal turret would need a new fuselage.

Tondeylayo was a B-25D-20 of the 500BS 345BG.
She had her plexi nose painted and 4 .50's in the nose as one of the first strafers of the Air Apache's.
Too bad the restorers didn't correctly dulicate her, it would have been easy.

There is a nice pic in "Low Level Attack: The Pacific" of the Air Combat Photo History Series.
