1/18 A-10
1/18 A-10
Mabuhay from the Philippines.
Not sure if you guys are familiar with wooded hand carved model planes. You'd often see them in defense related shows and expos. Most of these are done in Pampanga near where the once USAF Clark Airbase is located. My friend and I finally decided, after collecting almost all the 1/18 scale planes offered in the market, to have our favorite planes built. Here is an update on our A-10. So far our cost is at $430 with a clear canopy. Our next plane will be the A-4H at slightly cheaper cost.
Btw, does the group have a facebook page?

I'm not sure, but that looks like an A-20 in the background, I think I'd much rather one of those!
A helicopter does not want to fly, it just vibrates so much that the ground rejects it

Yes would be nice to be able to make some molds for this and ideally put the price down to $200.

Looks promising. Bring on a molded version.

It would be great to have one. I'm with Matt, I don't think in the present market $200.00 is realistic. Maybe if it was just a shell with no ordinance, no landing gear or extra features.

Re: 1/18 A-10
Can you tell us more about this model and the way you are making it ? what about the landing gear and the cockpit or armament ? it's a great project.!
1/18 mirage 2000 & RAFALE should i say more ?
Re: 1/18 A-10
The plane is hand carved. We intend to do a simple cockpit made from board and plastic. It will have a clear canopy. The wheels are recessed and are fixed. Pylons and ordnances we will mold from the F-16 and F-18. We will need to draw the panel lines, flaps and all and have a modeler friend do the paint detail.
There is a small business we know of that does life size resin work on super hero figures. We intend to bring the model to them and get a quote on the cost of having this plane done in resin.
