Metal Linked Ammunition for 20MM ammo

Post by MiG29K » Sat Jun 16, 2007 10:58 am

During my re-defection to 1/6th scale, it was a shock to see the new advances in just a few years. They make actual metal ammo, The casings and Bullets are two pieces and the Metal links are just like the real thing, they snap togther. I went to visit a friend in Vancouver who runs an internet sales operation from his home and I had to get these. I think these could possibly pass for either 20MM or 30MM ammunition in 1/18 scale. I haven't done the math but it was pretty much a cursory look. I've put them against a State Quarter for size...Check it...

And for the heck of it, I figured I'd throw in the 1/6th Scale (practically functioning) M72A2 LAW Rocket, compete with the rocket itself...it can be left in the 'Stored' or 'Deployed' state. I have an actual used one sitting around and I have to say the toy company hit it on the nail. Pretty sick stuff...you make the call.

I used some of the GI Joe .30 cal ammo belts for 20mm ammunition in the magazine of my XD Supercobra helo (the little box that comes out of the storage bay on the starboard side. From what I recall about the size of a 20mm shell in actuality, the 1:6 bullets work perfectly for 1:18 8)
