Atlantic Avenger screw caps

Post by sarge » Thu Apr 05, 2007 12:12 pm

Seeing as the Atlantic Avenger is becoming a plane of the past I wrote 21C about the Avenger screw caps every one is on the list for. Believe it or not received an answer 2 days later.  Here it is. Yes we still have the list. No we haven't received them yet. Don't know when or if company will send them.

I never figured anyone would receive them in the first place. Had to tell them I was sure glad Admiral Toys didn't do this on the missing 262 screw caps. :P :P I know I'll never hear back on that one.

There sure is a big difference between the two companies when it comes to customer service. I'm still a little bitter from the time I emailed them years ago about my P-38 landing gear breaking. They basically told me they never had a problem with it and I was too rough on it. That’s when they directed me to Ground Pounders to see if there was a fix available. I haven’t sent them an email since and don’t plan on it. I love their planes but their customer service sucks!!! :? :? :? :? :?

I enquired about the matter sometime last fall and got a reply that simply stated I should return the plane missing the caps if I was unhappy with it

21c should have come through with the screw caps as it was an obvious defect, but I don't see them doing that anytime soon. They've moved on... Afterall, many Wal Marts got stacks of the fixed Avengers over the holidays, many of which were then heavily discounted, making it relatively easy for most of us who wanted a fixed Avenger to get one for cheap.

I finally wound up switching the planes - I got a "fixed" Avenger at my local Hobbytown store (since they oddly enough never showed up at a nearby Wal Mart) and returned the old one to Wal Mart. Sure I lost about $10 with the switch, but to me it was worth it to have a complete aircraft

the nose gear on my P-38 broke the first time I tried putting it back up, too. I e-mailed 21st and actually did get a replacement landing gear strut in the mail about 3 weeks later. Unfortunately, whoever handled it either knew very little English or very little about their products, because it was the right rear landing gear strut :?
After that, I realized it is easier just to keep it hanging, and if I ever get ambitious, I will cast a new one with aluminum or repair it with a steel center pin.

The "Flight 19" Avengers are not missing the screw caps, and come with the pitot tube and radio mast attached 8)

Later "Atlantic" Avengers (found at the small retailers and Wal Mart) also had the screw caps and pitot tube installed.

I'd get a "Flight 19" Avenger if I were you. It is a pretty nice scheme! Currently, the online retailer www.theflyingmule.com has them for $59.99, which is the best price around!
