New 21st 1:144 stuff?

Post by krieglok » Fri Feb 09, 2007 7:52 pm

When did 21st come out with the new 1:144th stuff? I found the set at the local WM tonight. It has the M7, Pzkw III, Brumbar, Jagdtiger, Jagdpanther and Stug IV. Kind of a surprise for me at least...

IIRC, the armor came out just before Christmas (in my area at least).

Unfortunately, I had made the decision to go with 1/72 about six months ago, and I'm NOT going to pick up another scale...

I'm NOT...

I'm NOT...

(Of course, that's what I said when I was collecting 1/18, too)

These are not in my area yet, NW Louisiana. The planes are here, but after the 1st armor run, they have not been stocked

Hello? what? I haven't even heard they were coming out with new 1/144 stuff. There is nothing out there on the web or anything and no e-tailers seem to have them. Can anyone confirm these sightings or post some pics??? I would be most appreciative.

Thanks

The 1/48th scale stuff was out in Illinois around Christmas. Had the Whirbelwind and two tanks. All gone now though and nothing to replace it???? Man this stuff is really hit or miss at WalMart. :( :x

Not one of these 144s. We have planes and the original series tanks and the repaints too. But not these new ones. Wal Mart has a weird distribution system as we all know. One place never gets things, one down the road can't sell them and has them on sale. I believe that WM actually picks these up at the factory, ships them under its opwn cover, drops them off at their own distribution centers and a blind gnome who can evilly sense where they are most wanted kicks them onto trucks heading in the opposite direction.
That's the hallmark of Wal Mart- if they sell out, you're likely to never see it again. Certainly if you want it, definitely if you need it. Not just toys either.

Very interresting... I haven't seen any 1/144 stuff around here since the repaints of the original armor pieces and the aircraft 2 packs. Of course, I swore a long time ago, 1/18 is it. And since I have now broken that rule 6 ways from Sunday, bring 'em on! My Leopold needs armor support!

YA,
That goes for me as well. If anyone out there could pick some up for me, I would pay for them plus mailing. Razor and Digger helped me out when the first ones became available but no Shermans were available in my AO.

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Dennis

Here in the DFW area there is only the new repaints of last years armor. Last year I stocked up on them since they were going on clearance for $0.50 each.
If there are other 1/44 armor out there at WM I would be interested in anyone that can get their hands on a few.

Yep, still getting the repaints here too. My closest WM had the repaints for 25 cents apiece here for a couple of days, and now they're back up to $1.97. That's another issue I have with WM. Clearance should mean CLEARANCE. Not lower price for a while and then if it dosen't sell, put it back on the shelf at full price. That's called a SALE, not CLEARANCE.
Anyway, I actually got a couple of the S2 Shermans with the camo stripes. I also noticed that, at least in my area, the 1:144 tanks are coming in boxes half the size of the old ones. (I'm talking about the green boxes that hold all the tank boxes) so theyre are half the amount of tanks on the shelf at any given time.

I saw the helo in its own box last fall in probably a different scheme, and this 2-pack over the holidays a few times.

Those have been out in my area since the fall. There is the pictured pack with the vehicles in the US Army scheme and there is another in a foreign cammo scheme. I think the foreign scheme may have been identified as being French...

I think the foreign camo is some sort of UN scheme, if I recall correctly. Some sort of white and blues in different shades, I think.

I saw some blue painted stuff as well and took it to be some type of police paint job.
