GOING TO DONATE SOME XD PLANES

Post by nomo4me » Sun Dec 26, 2004 7:53 pm

I have duplicates of a couple of the P-40's, and a few P-47's I just don't have interest in owning anymore.

I've sold a mess of them on ebay before, but with the fees and hassle of packaging (or expense of buying a sleeve of Badcat boxes, which I've done), it's hardly worth the effort.

So I'm going to cart about 4 planes into the gift shop of the Hill Air Force Base and see if they want to accept them as a donation to resell.

Maybe they will be glad to get them. Maybe they will give me some lame crap about not having a sku for the cash register. I dunno.

But I hope this will be a valued donation in their eyes. I always slip a dollar or two in the donation box when I visit, maybe this will be a bit better.

that's a great idea. Be sure to let us know what they say, and what happens.

If that doesn't work.. toys-for-tots, perhaps?

Great Idea:
I did somewhat the same with about 6 XD airplanes and a few tanks just before Xmas. I had these extras that I had accumulated to use as parts for some projects that I never got around to. I took them to the local Salvation Army Headquarters and donated them to needed kids. I'm sure there were some excited kids there when they saw them. At least they are being used and not just taking up room in my place.
