Product Review - Postage Stamp Model Power Aircraft

I came across a couple of aircraft from this series a few days ago at my local Hobbytown store, a B-17G and Landcaster. I was impressed with these two planes and ordered a B-24 from TheFlyingMule online store. (I've included a couple pictures of the B-17 and B-24 from that site below). The aircraft are quite similar to the Corgi 1:144 bombers, save that they are approximately 1:150 scale. I thought the level of detail was far superior and they did not look as "toyish" as the Corgi planes. For example, what may be a painted window on the corgi plane was glazed on the PostageStamp plane.

Has anyone else collected planes from this line? I haven't heard them mentioned around here very much. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi,
How did they arrive at those weird scales? Is it a question everything has to fit into a standard-sized box?

I LOVE that series! I have a whole huge collection of them. They carry them at the Planes of Fame Museum so I'm always picking them up. I love them! I wish I had gotten the big Blue Angel set. It had all 6 Blues on a neat stand that had them in formation.

I just recently got the F-117A with the American flag on the bottom (which is special for me because I saw the last flight of that very aircraft), the V-22 Osprey, and E-2 Hawkeye. I'm looking to find the F-22 Raptor they have and B-2 now.

Personally, I love their B-1B Lancer. Great design on it. And the B-25 is well done. Oh! And of ALL Fat Albert C-130 Hercules out there that have been made (which are very few)... they are the only company to put the JATO rockets on it!

Glad you like them - I thought they were pretty cool as well! The wierd scales are most certainly the result of trying to get various planes to fit within a standard box. It doesn't really bother me, however. The Landcaster and B-17, at 1:150 and 1:155 scales are pretty much scale to one another. The B-24 is a tad bit small at 1:163 scale, but still looks great with the others!

I too have all of them. Even the Blue Angels set.

Yes, the scales are quite different. The JU-88 has a 9" wingspan and the Betty has a 4-5" wingspan. Strange.

These are really nice despite the scale issues.

They are definantly decent for the price. I have numerous planes from this series and the B-25 is particularly good.

I love the model power series too.
Small enough and cheap enough to stock a complete era or air force.
I love the WWI stuff and the WWII bombers.
I would say model power is also most likely to give us the elusive A-4 skyhawk and A-7 CorsairII. Soon please!
