JAGDPANTHER BUILD (updated)

Post by problemchild » Fri Dec 30, 2005 2:52 pm

Ok here go's I have totally cut up a good panther and tiger to make this beast. The tiger is going to be a strum later on so I used foward muzzle and back piece of barrel for jagdP.I used the mantle of the panther and put it inside so barrel would still move up and down.Made templates for all sides scratch built all stuff from lower hull up I still have to finish top plate. The side, front and back are real tricky because the front is a little wider than the back so you have to have the right distance for it to look right from the top.The Mantle and plate were a pain in the#%@ but it's taken on really good shape.I made the mantle from supersculpey and the plate out of balsa foam a really good carving material. Then I seamed it all with milliput.I would like to know your guys opnion on this thanks Dave

Good work! This is what I like to see.
Besides, modelling is fun and creative.

Yeah, they did, but it didn't make it into the 1/18 scale.

thanks again to all here are more pics I finally gave it a yellow base coat to see where all the bad spots are the grey you see is putty.I taped barrell on for now it's to long to work with so it will go on last.I need to finish top and it's almost ready for paint.I really don't know why 21st won't do one of these in 1/18 it would be cool, but I would rather see a king tiger

Great work! I agree with you - a Jagdpanther massproduced in 1:18 would be very cool, as well as a King Tiger. 21c did and excellent job with their 32x versions of both those vehicles, save that the 1:18 tanks would have to include an interior!

Excellent. The Jagdpanther has always been one of my favorites. Keep posting shots as you progress. It is a good way to show the construction techniques and details.
