FineScale Modeler has Merit's 1/18 Dauntless Kit
FineScale Modeler has Merit's 1/18 Dauntless Kit
FineScale Modelers March 2015 issue has a build of Merit's 1/18 Dauntless Kit. It's a beautiful model. I wasn't planning on getting one, now I'm reconsidering. This is the type of exposure Merit needs. A glimmer of hope for the future of 1/18 scale.

If more 1/18 collectors could build models the scale would do great. Its a great scale!

I agree. I'm still surprised how many folks in the model building community never heard of 21st Century Toys
and their 1:18 product line, a little late now. But if Merit can get more exposure with these 1:18 kits, modelers
may take an interest in a scale many still think is for dicast cars.

Great exposure being in FSM.
Can only help Merit, and hopefully inject some more interest in 1/18.

I agree, for along time modelers stuck their nosses up at anything over 1/35 scale but it seems to be getting better. Trumpeters 1/16 kits with full interiors have brought alot of people over and now the larger scales seem more acceptable and not the red headed step child of the modeling world.normandy wrote:rschaap wrote:FineScale Modelers March 2015 issue has a build of Merit's 1/18 Dauntless Kit. If it had marking options and was reasonably priced, I would gladly take a shot at building the 1/18 FW-190......of course that's assuming it comes out in my lifetime!Jnewboy wrote:If more 1/18 collectors could build models the scale would do great. Its a great scale!
