Another MC-202 Redo
Another MC-202 Redo
My latest repaint used an old IXO MC-202 as its subject. Here's a picture of the model in its original form:

Re: Another MC-202 Redo
After doing a lot of gap filling and making a few other repairs, I chose an early camouflage scheme which featured a scribble-like green application over the standard light hazel fi nish supplied by the factory. This would have been roughly laid on by the local ground crew. Here's how it came out:

Finally, here's a comparison with two other IXO/War Master repaints of the same plane, both using the more common "smoke ring" motif ( the War Master model on the left is a partial repaint ):

Re: Another MC-202 Redo
Thanks, K. I think that the MC-202 is the prettiest widely used fighter of WW2 and enjoy these redos----even though I'd prefer to work with a better made, non-gappy model.

Wonderful looking plane with some outstanding looking camo schemes!
Very nice work.
Was the 202 ever flown by the Luftwaffe?
Very nice work.

Re: Another MC-202 Redo
Thanks, guys.
Yes, a few MC-202s were taken over by the Germans after Italy's surrender in September 1943. The Germans also used some MC-205s but these were mostly employed by the Italian forces that remained loyal to Hitler under Mussolini until the end of WW2.
