Modified M113

Post by Gunner » Sat Dec 03, 2005 6:41 pm

I'm finally starting to unpack my hobby stuff. Some of my stuff hasn't seen the light of day in six months or more.

I based this mod on a picture I saw in "Vietnam Tracks".

I haven't even had time to putty over the holes that 21C made (obviously). The Recoiless Rifle really needs to be about 3/4" further back (about 1' scale), but I used an existing hole, so c'est la vie.

The accessories are Build-a-Rama (what else).

Once I get all my tools unpacked (and finish a few projects around the new house), I'll sit down and do a good job on this (I just went to my local hobby shop and bought putty).

Looks great, but as soon as you remove the gear that 21st C included with it makes it look better. I like the use of the recoilless rifle. When you're done with it, please share it. Thanks

That looks really cool! momaw nadon is quite right in that when you take off the cruddy 21c gear, the tank looks much better! The M113 has really turned into a customizer's dream in some respects. I don't normally customize my toys, but couldn't resist on my desert M113. I got it once for $10 and have spent several times that much re-outfitting it with build-a-rama accessories and modern BBI figures. Since this picture was taken, the tarp on front has been removed and packs with barbed wire added.

Looks cool! I've been wanting to customize my 2 M113's as well but just haven't got the time to do it yet. Your pictures sure are inspiring me to take action now.
