Wings of Glory 1:48 @ WM
Anyone seen these? They look just like 21st's 1:48 designs. There was a BF-109, not too bad looking. Box said they were made by BH Toys LLC of San Clemente CA.
Back of the box showed a P-47D, P-51D, FW190D, and a F-104. $9.99. I never saw these before??

There have been a couple threads on these. The Red Tail Mustang came out about a year ago. Over the summer there was an Me109 and this past fall a P-40. Distribution seemed to be very spotty

Ah, I must have missed the topics somehow. Distribution must indeed be spotty if I am first seeing one now. Still, it was interesting to see a realistic military item at WM again. I miss the old days.

Re: Wings of Glory 1:48 @ WM
The 3 WM I drive by everyday still have various combinatons and numbers of all 3 planes. In fact the WM closest to me just restocked the mustang after not having any since last summer

Interesting recon reports, I gotta do a cruise thru my local WMs, but all the times I went looking for these I came up empty-handed. And falling into the category of Why Did They Bother, here's their website http://www.bhtoys.com/ Oh well, maybe better things are yet to come, like maybe even ordering direct.

Every one I have seen has had serious paint quality issues.

Even though they come from a company aparently based in my home state, I've never seen these at a variety of Wal Marts from northern to southern california. Very spotty distribution, really worse than the old 21c days. Can't believe I actually said that

Does anyone know if there are any plans for Wings of Glory to delve into 1/32? I thought there had been some discussion about if the 1/48 were successful they might go into other scales.

A brand new Wal Mart just opened in my community this week. Not wanting to wait in the long line to buy ammo, I went into the toy aisle instead, thinking a newly-stocked store would have a good chance of having these "Wings of Glory aircraft...

Same thing in Joplin, the tornado took out the old Walmart, this one hasn't been there long and they have none.

I found a group of 6 of the tuskeegee p-51s- #66 "by request" today; they've probably been there since the 109 tulip nose ones, but have only recently been put out on the shelf

Re: Wings of Glory 1:48 @ WM
On a road trip today into the northern part of my state, I stopped at a Wal Mart in Gilroy California. Lo and behold, they had about 18 of the "Wings of Glory" Hartmann Bf-109s.
The is the first and only time I've ever seen these in California. They are absent in the central and southern areas of California. Actually, I followed up on a tip from P-51, who had spotted them at this same Wal Mart several months ago.
I picked up a couple and while I am glad to have finally found them, I'm not missing much. My 21c 1:48 Bf-109K is actually superior - that has all the antennas, pitot tubes, landing gear pieces, and simply better workmanship that the "Wings of Glory" model doesn't have. I assumed these were nothing much in terms of true quality from the get-go, but wanted to see if Wal Mart's distribution system worked. In California, I would say it failed, but at least I lucked out a little

Our local store got resupplied last week. P-51s, Me-109s and P40s. Had them in the die cast and the model area.
Re: Wings of Glory 1:48 @ WM
Are these still around in some dusty corners of the Wal Marts that I try to avoid as best that I can?

I bought the BF-109 a while ago and, even though it didn't have major QC issues, I was not too impressed------except for the low price. I made a few small mods, mostly with the light blue/gray color. Here's a topside picture:
