1/32 Scale BBI "Jolly Roger" Phantom
1/32 Scale BBI "Jolly Roger" Phantom
A used BBI 1/32 scale Phantom just sold on ebay for $250 - 22 bids!
Guessing the new one coming out next spring will be a hot seller! Maybe, after that one sells out, we'll get a Viet Nam version...

$250, for a used one.

I have one on display, plus one MIB. Perhaps I should consider selling my boxed one.
Not sure how well the Black Knights Phantom will sell, as it's not the best scheme, and almost $100. I do hope it sells well enough to keep BBI interested in doing some others, particularly some SEA "Mig Killers".

Re: 1/32 Scale BBI "Jolly Roger" Phantom
I think this will sell pretty well. There are a lot of us out here who weren't able to collect during the glory days. I for one love the Phantom and though I'd love a JR or a 'Nam camo, the one is beyond my financial means and the other doesn't exist. I think there are a lot of people like me who are willing to settle on an okay scheme at a reasonable price.
Note I say reasonable price based on today's prices. Beyond that I know that a lot of the guys out there like to have multiple schemes and believe in supporting the few manufacturers still out there. I hope I'm right on this but I might be way off base.

Big Mike I also think it will have good sales. Compared to the cost of most 1/32 Phantom kits in todays market, the price is not that far out of line considering it will be a finished, pre-built model.big_mike wrote:I think this will sell pretty well.

Wow! $250 for a used BBI Phantom. Thats going for more than a Corgi 1:32 Mosquito and more than most 1:18 planes. Can you believe that when the BBI Phantom came out, there were quite a few members around here who were abhorred by its $50 price? Granted that was more than the $15 21c 32x at Wal Mart, but quite cheap compared to what they are going for now.
I love my Jolly Rogers Phantom, which I was lucky to get brand new back in the day. Mine has been on display ever since. Should have gotten another.

Concerning the new BBI Phantom, this from Badcat:
UPDATE 11/15/2012--This aircraft is due to arrive toward the latter half December. Christmas delivery is unlikely.

I'm glad to hear the new Phantom will be arriving soon. I recently posted an inquiry about the status of the new plane with no responses.

Boy, I really like the 1/32 phantom. I too wish I would have bought a second one when I originally purchased. Mine has been on display. I will have to take a look at the new release and see about adding it to my collection.

Re: 1/32 Scale BBI "Jolly Roger" Phantom
Finally got my F4 out of the box. Thought I would dress it up a little and make a stand for her. How's it look?

That's an awesome display Pizza. The stand is excellent and the r.b.f. covers and tags look perfect. Very impressive.

RBF covers look amazing! Looks like you found an excellent "niche" for your creative skills...I have two sets of your RBF covers for my JSI F14s. Oh yeah, plus four of your F18 stands!
