Not sure if you guys knew anything about them or if you did but had a chance to talk to someone who knew everything so I thought I would pass some of the info he gave me to any of the curious minds....

The logo you are asking about was used by VC 55 air group. They were on the USS Block Island, CVE 21 when it was sunk by a German U-Boat on May 29, 1944. They flew the FM 2 Wildcat the TBF Avenger airplanes. The character was blue with yellow wings. VC 55 also served on the USS Card, CVE 11 and there USS Croatan, CVE 25.

But they used the term "Blue Goose" a lot. Bill
They kept the emblem even when their ship was sunk and they were tranfered
