Hello Gents,
Here's the skinny on Unimax' 2005 lineup, although there's still a few things that have to be clarified with the manufacturer:

Panzer IV Ausf. G Tank - eastern front

1:32 Soldiers of Steel Figures

1:72 Micro Military Vehicle Series - awaiting assortment breakdown
1:72 Micro Soldier Assortment - ditto
1:72 Micro Military Plane Assortment - ditto

Hope that helps. Those 1:72 scale figures are sure going to be small. Hope they come with tweezers...

the 1/72 stuff is very welcome indeed and I can only hope they have chosen well on the various models.

The new 1/32 stuff holds no surprises and although I will buy one each of any new model (not repaints) I would really have liked to see something differant to whats already available from other manufacturers.

I do welcome the lee/grant in particular.

Still new stuff is new stuff :)

Dom, I'm surprised you didn't mention the CHALLENGER!

I'd figure you Brits would be all over it. I love the looks of the Challenger, especially the Chally 2. Hope that's what it is.

I am excited to hear more about the 1/72 stuff.. Planes would be cool also, as long as they don't have dark panel lines like the jets did..

1/72 scale

Post by victory » Fri Oct 08, 2004 11:35 am

Its good to see Dragon will have competition in the 1/72 scale. I hate the way they handle exclusives. If your going to announce a limited run and make it an exclusive than so be it. Don't just continue to repackage it.

1:72 Scale Armor Breakdown

Post by lightning2000 » Fri Oct 08, 2004 1:29 pm

Hello Gentlemen,
According to Unimax, here's the tentative breakdown for the 1:72 scale diecast armor line:

Modern:
US M1A1 Abrams tank in desert tan
US M3A2 Bradley Cavalry Vehicle in desert tan
UK Challenger 2 tank in desert tan
Iraqi T-72 tank in desert camo

WWII:
King Tiger tank in Norman camo
Tiger I tank in Norman camo
US M4A1 Sherm in Olive Drab
British Churchill in green

Again, this is preliminary info they're providing to us as a courtesy and, of course, they're collecting audience. This could change once the Hobby Show has concluded and they mull over the feedback they receive. From what we hear, the vehicles will have the same weathered appearance as their 1:32 scale brethren. What isnt clear if they'll come with accessories and/or figures like the FOV line. Just a guess but I think not.

We don't as yet, have the breakdowns for the figures or aircraft assortments. We'll post them as soon as we do...

Cordially,

Thanks for the info Lightning!

I would really like to see someone do a Sherman Firefly, is it too late to convince them to make one?

Ah - I see that a FOV Panther is on the way - thats good news. :D

Also, I imagine that with Unimax and the 1/72 scale that there won't be exclusives and limited edition releases to worry about. I tell you what I would like though, some 1/72 diorama stuff like broken walls, lamp-posts etc included with the tanks...

Cheers - Pete

Thanks for the intell about the 1/72 line. They all sound very promising. I'm looking forward to the Iraqi T-72 tank the most.

Thanks for the Picture Football. This is great. The 1/72 figures certainly add to totally different dimension to 1/72 collectors. And I've always thought the 1/32 airplanes was something 21st should have persued more. Looks like they may be a little too late.
