Indy truck

Post by ram04 » Fri Sep 30, 2011 1:17 pm

I'm trying to make a Indy truck into a G3a, which seems to be the closest to what they designed it off of, of course there is no way with my skills I can get it exact or fairly close

It seems they made many different varients, soft tops, no tops, hard tops, you can pretty well pick a version, I'm leaning to doing a all canvas model, maybe roll the sides up, I'm open to suggestions and ideas.

I've already hacked on it alittle

Thanks guys, the front of the truck is really wrong for a G3a, so I'm trying to at least make it believeable, any ideas are welcomed.

Oh, the pool is way too cool to get into, actually I'm shutting it down this weekend

Wish I'd taken a before picture, but it was a typical Indy truck, I've been working on it off and on the last few days, I'll take some pictures, of course it won't be done

You know,

I have always thought that the Indy truck looked ridiculous.

Now seeing these pics of the real thing, it actually looks like a real truck.

You guy's are doing / done a great job :D

* Cool thread. 8) ... I like those original pics. Seems your well on your way Jim to creating something different to it.

.......... I've got 3 of these trucks myself. Two are the soft top version ,
the other one is that plastic hard top 1st. edition I think.

Well I had some time today to mess around with the Indy truck, still has aways to go, to be honest I'm kinda winging it right now, I believe a little weathering and some accessories will help it out, any advice is always welcomed, thanks.

Thanks, hopefully I'll get time this weekend to mess with it again, it has been fun, partly because the way its built its pretty solid and I don't worry as much about breaking it

the Indy truck is pretty good as it comes, if you treat it as sort of a generic german 'truck'. But these mods are excellent and show the potential it has.
