Looking for FW-190 canopy

Post by smittyrob64 » Fri Oct 29, 2010 6:46 pm

Anyone have a spare canopy by any chance, just got an Fw-190 and the canopy has a crack in it, and it's bothering me.

I cannot help with the 262 canopy, but I do have a parted out FW-190 and the canopy is still there. Do you need both forward and slider, or just one or the other. Let me know.....and no, no charge.

Wow, Folkwolfe comes thru big time!
It never ceases to amaze me how members on this forum come thru in a clinch. I thought for sure this would be a "crazy" request with no possible chance at success - I was very happy to be proved wrong.

No biggie guys...just doing my part for the hobby. I bought 5 of them some time ago and buggered up the gear on one (hence the parting out). The other 4 are customs I did and are not for sale, but this one needs a home (or at least parts to make one whole again). Just remember if I need parts some day....maybe not? I like to scratch the parts I need most of the time anyway. I'm sure there are alot of other "needers" out there too.

I am in need of the Horizontal Stabilizers/Elevators for a FW-190. I have some spare ME-109 and Stuka parts to trade or cash.

Looks like your dead bird will bring a few to life :D I wanted to do a custom with this one I found and have been just missing the tail stabilizers.

Okay....Smitty, Aircobra, Jay....I dug through the boxes and found the bird. It is indeed the "Black 12" version and shes about apart for shipping. As soon as I can get boxes and padded envelopes I will get them in the mail. If you need (and you better ask now before I pack it all up) I can provide pictures of what's coming to you.

Alrighty then...moving right along....
Jay:....Here's what is coming your way. Fuselage minus the horizontal tails and canopy (front and rear). All screws and screw hole plugs (yes I saved them...I'm anal that way). Main wings including flaps and ailerons, but missing the main gear struts and doors w/wheels. One (left side) cannon is also missing.

Aircobra:...Here's your's. Both horizontal tails feathers with the elevators still attached.

Smitty:...Here's your's. Both front and rear canopy including the slider and armored headrest still attached.

With luck, everything should be in the mail by Friday at the latest (Jay's stuff having to travel the farthest). As I get tracking numbers, I will PM them to you.

Just received my FW-190 canopy from Folkwulfe.
He actually sent it back in November but there was a mix up with the mail and it finally showed up now.
A very pleasant surprise!

A big thank you to Folkwulfe for this very generous act having sent it at his own expense and asking nothing for it. :D
Cheers

Your welcome Smitty....and I like to believe I am NOT a rare-bird on this forum. Just sorry the canopy had to take a trip around the world before finding you.
