I'm kinda new to this hobby. only been colleting a few months now.Sorry if this has been covered before. You guys are the best source of info.
Why is the yellow 23 ME 109 so valuable? I saw one on Ebay go for 1,800.00. I see PWP does repaints to duplicate them.
Is it the because its so rare? Was it a prototype unavailable to the public? The paint and mold don't seem too exceptional to me. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

Barbarian,
Welcome aboard. I don't know much about this particular variation other than what's been covered in this thread (about 9 posts down vmf214 does a pretty good history on it):

If you haven't read it - it might answer your questions. Hope it helps. I think I remember reading about board members discussing whether there was someone out there doing repaints and claiming them to be one of the "golden three" original 21st Cent. prototypes so be careful out there.

Value is in the eye of the beholder(s). Obviously worth it to some or wouldn't have sold. As the only 3 in existance are safe in collections, worth and value of these is really a moot point. Everyone seems quick to bash this model for accuracy and so and so on and so on. It's a prototype, right, wrong, or indifferent, it's a prototype. Therefore rarity and value are just mother nature. The point really isn't a super detailed desert schemed 109, the point is it's a prototype to of which only 3 exist. And that's all she wrote.
