First the F22, now the F35. I think the US military wants to be using the same fighters for 50 years. Even though the current fighters like the F15 and F18 look much better than the butt ugly F22 and F35, the F22 and F35 are more advanced, and needed in today's world.

so what's the navy planning on using 30 years from now? There's no other plane in development they can use instead of the f-35 so a new design will have to be done from scratch, which will take ages to get to production.

Could the yf-23 be modified for carrier use? I imagine it would cost as much or more than the f-35 to maintain though..
i never met an airplane i didn't like...
