New Product Range: Dragon Armor Value Plus Series
Its no secret Dragon's critically acclaimed Dragon Armor series has been steadily inching up in cost, in some instances nearing a mind-boggling $30 price point. While there will always be an audience for the original series, Dragon took an important step by offering a new product range aimed at the budget-minded consumer. As far as we can tell, the new series will be every bit as good as its original cousin, however, the vehicles will now be packaged in an open window display box, meaning the company is doing away with the acrylic display case to reduce costs.

It also appears as if the company is offering some new repaints instead of simply taking existing vehicles and nestling them in a repackaged format. Frankly, we applaud the manufacturer's effort to move the series forward in today's economic climate and believe that with the lower retail price points new blood will be drawn into the hobby. The first two vehicles in the series are Tiger I heavy tanks, which will likely be bolstered with an array of vehicles drawn from the original series in the coming weeks...[posted 4/17/2009]
