Another Blue Angels Hornet Question

Post by Coreyeagle48 » Sun Mar 08, 2009 6:27 pm

Did the pilot's helmet come with an oxygen mask on this version.

I saw the other guy's post about the oxygen mask and it made me look at mine. I don't think one ever came with the pilot when I took my Hornet out of the box. Maybe BBI forgot it :(

Yeah, it came with a gold flight helmet... at least mine did. No mask on it though.

Hey Britt

Long time no see. Are you still taking your photographs?

Hey Corey,

Yup! Airshow season starts this weekend for me. Two BIG airshow back to back including the Blue Angel's first show of the year. Lots of projects going on lately!

The Blue Angel version did not come with an oxygen mask to my knowledge (and yes...I have one too) because the Blues don't wear them during airshows. Since they stay well below the oxy-altitude during shows, they use a boom mic for communications as its clearer and weighs less (important during those high G turns and banks).

HELMET

Post by supersonicfifi » Tue Mar 10, 2009 4:32 am

The helmet is really cool (even without the oxygen mask!) the only drawback is that the visor is hallf way down ... or Up ! so if you put the helmet correctly on the head of the pilot you see his face, but if you want to put his visor down the helmet is angled in an awkaward fashion !

The visor is a realistic rendition of an iridium visor (like oakley sunglasses ! with mirror effect in the reality! here it's just a metalic looking paint, but very cool )

The other little bug is the missing microphone (i wish i can recreate the boom mic. of the apache pilot to implement on this helmet and it would be perfect...)

I saw a BLUE ANGELS on ebay at 475 $ on ebay !!!!!
