How do I create Vietnam Terrain?

Post by Razor17019 » Mon Jan 05, 2009 9:58 pm

I am in the middle of creating a Vietnam dio. I am trying to create the edge of the jungle near the edge of my board just far enough in to hide a few VC.
What would you suggest I use to create elephant grass/jungle plant life tall enough to hide my VC?

If I am just wanting to cover flat areas, what is a good terrain cover to use to simulate Vietnam?

I'm sure your local Law enforcement would be interested if Razor17019 is'nt.

Seriously, cut the bristles from a brush. Dye/paint them to the shade of foliage required. Push into your diorama base or polystyrene painted green.
Good to go! :D

I have tried that......it does not have the right look for 1/18th...it does look good for 1/32  bristles are to skinny might work for some plant types..besides the bristle can be quite stiff..that can make placing figure in it a difficult....I also tired that in my quest to find a perfect 1/18th grass..

If you need something for deep jungle I've got this tree thing that might work...

Centone,
Very cool.

might be worth checking out the bristles on brooms at the dollar store. They're thicker that paint brushes and some of the synthetics would have enough "give" for figure placement and could be chopped up at different heights.
