I was at WM yesterday looking for the 1/32 Marder and saw something that caught my eye. It was their 1/48 Panzer IV with skirting only on the turret. It is painted the yellowish-brown with a hint of weathering. I was so surprised by how good it looked that I actually bought it. I have not liked any of their other 1/48 Panzer IV's. I hope that that this is a sign of things to come.

The 21c 1:48 Panzer IVs do indeed look good. They are one of the few 21c vehicles left that includes some diecast metal as part of the construction. You may also want to head over to your nearest TRU. There has been a few repaints of the 1:48 Panzer IVD and Panzer IVH there in the last few months, moreso than at Wal Mart. The latest two - a gray Panzer IV D with green striping and heavy weathering; and a Panzer IV H with a yellow base and green & brown striping - look awesome! I only wish they came with the side skirts like in the picture on the box

I haven't collected 1/48th but when I saw these I had to pick them up because I was so impressed.
