Well, I'll be at Toy Fair tomorrow, and will post pics by tomorrow night if nobody else post pics by tomorrow..... Sorry guys, but for me, this Toy Fair is starting with a big YAWN, another jet, and $140 to boot......Jeessz. With all those great WW2 "twin's" just crying for production.....Boy o boy.
As this will probably be my last Toy Fair, I was looking forward to exciting news and maybe a few prototypes. Oh well.
BTW, my last TF comment only means I'm moving away from the Big Apple. Not real far, just too far to come to the next TF.

I hear this is the best one in years, with all 3 players showing or announcing intent to produce new goodies in a variety of scales. Patience is needed at the moment but will be rewarded..

We were dreaming of it...
We were talking of it...
Ladies and Gentlemen, here come the KING TIGER ! ! !
And this beauty will come in an ambush sheme
YEPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ! ! !
Sad the Firefly and Sturmgeschutz IV will not be in 1:18 too
Well, there is also a 88 flak gun...
Let's hope it will have a prime mover to move it in the field.
Thank you 21st Century for making me happy before going to work

TKO: I was really hoping for more under the 1:18 airplane category here. We've known about everything shown for a while.
Two questions.
2) Can you put up a better pic of the 1:32 P-47. That looks like a must have!! Also one of the P-51B.
1) What happened to the gun lockers on the second run of P-51's? Did that all just not work out? Or is 21st now going to tell us it will be on the third run? Also, why another Big Beautiful Doll? Is it really necessary to do repaints of already done schemes?

Well, it's a lot like the Snake Stuka, where more recent research has made a significant change on the coloring. I highly doubt that anything real significant has turned up with BBD. In fact, it's still not as good as it could be since the kill markings are more overtly PC than Bad Cats' exclusive. My point is that this is trying to sell plastic using flashy colors over and over, while there were thousands of P-51s in the war (and post war with National Guard and foreign armies) with just as deserving pilots as this plane that we aren't seeing because 21st thinks people will only buy the famous and flashy ones.MIGMADMAVIS wrote:well, if that was a really popular scheme, imagine how cool it will be with a better, more detailed scheme, as well as it being retooled
Don't worry there are new planes in the works for 1:18! Just not ready to show yet I am afraid.
To answer your questions.
1. Um, I think the P-47 pic shown might be the only one I have... Let me check and get back to you on it! The P-51B is only shown on the flyer right now. The plastic versions are in china getting final revisions done. So that is all I have for that one I am afraid.
2. Gun Bays are a great question! They did get scrubbed for the BBD release due to other outside forces. But they WILL make a come back for sure! Big Beautiful Doll...
well there are several reasons actually.
1. It is the most popular selling scheme bar none! 21c has some great intel / sources in the industry and BBD is just a hands down winner all the time!
2. This version is very different from the first release in many ways. 1. the new tooling, 2. this version is a last version Landers flew and it features the full 3 rows of checkers on the wingtips. 3. the paint colors are improved over the last one. 4. Cowl checkers have been corrected to the actual scale size 5. the other one is kinda old and many new fans are demanding this scheme having missed the first issue.
In most cases you are correct that it makes no sense to re run schemes. But in a very few cases depending on the situations it makes good sense.
Hope that helps.

I like that 105 in 32x. Now, they need to make it in XD and I will be a happy man. I am at work so not all of the pics are comming through--stupid child protection software. Oh well---can't wait till I get home to check out all of the fun pics.

A little off topic but has anyone actually seen these new Stuka pictures? I've been looking since this was first mentioned last year and I still haven't seen them.Plane Nuts wrote:Well, it's a lot like the Snake Stuka, where more recent research has made a significant change on the coloring.
