It was Historic Aviation who spearheaded the project and from my understanding only HA is going to recieve the full shipment. I know that other on-line retailers have launched pre-orders. I believe that HA is selling some of them to those other places and that makes perfect sense to me. It basically allows HA to control 100% of the inventory or to allow themselves to become the distributor for other online retailers. Regardless- WM will not be getting them.
I'm sure there's a minimal order requirement also that may have been more than HA's needs. By shopping some of it out to other e-tailers HA was able to get this scheme done. Creative and well done.

I like the fact the the 332nd FG is getting done for the P-51 but I'm gonna pass. Why? Because after I get my "Tender Terror" P-51 the tank will be full for awhile as far as P-51's go. NOW if we see a P-51B come out then I will get one of those for sure.

Got shipping notice that this P-51 will arrive 2/1. Can't wait! 8)

Have been hoping for a 332nd scheme since the S-1 P-51 came out. As Aferg always says, patience is a virtue in this hobby.

Nothing here yet and I ordered mine on day 1

Hopefully it will come soon. They never responded to my email last month either. I think this might be my first and last purchase there.

Unless they get something really cool in. 8)

Got my plane today, pretty nice, especially the pilot. The overall paint is very well done. Been nice if it would've come in it's own box with some Tuskegee history on it but oh well.

Is the prop straight or is it the old bent one?

It has the new prop from what I was told, it also has the correct tire colors which is black not grey.

It's gorgeous - but I'm holding off on more P-51's until they do an A or C version. In addition to the 332nd planes, there are some really neat schemes on the earlier birds, including Don Gentile's "Shangri La."

But I'm almost at the boycott point on 21st until they bring out a P-47 from the 56th FG. The new P-38 announcement is nice but to not have something from the ETO's highest-scoring aces just doesn't seem right.

Flytiger,
Here's a quick pic to whet your appetite for 56th FG T-bolts. Maybe this will push 21C in the right direction. I would very much like to see a Gabrieski P-47. It seems like a natural choice. As for the Bunnie P-51, it looks really nice, better than I thought it would. The correct prop makes a huge difference.

That is a great looking P-51. It is amazing what a difference those straight props make to the overall look. I also like the headsculpt on the pilot!

The Wolf Pack P-47's would be a HOME RUN! the 56th was awesome. 21st is not done doing repaints so I think it's just a matter of time on something like that. I could see a Gabby P-47 as a special edition or perhaps a Legends series IF that product line gets a green light to go that is...

WOW,

Thats a beauty of a color scheme and a great tribute to the men of the 332nd. I'm gonna pass however because I have enough P-51's until Old Crow comes out. After that the door will be closed on my P-51 collection because it will be time to move on to other Aircraft like the BBI Zero and the BBI F6F Hellcat. But again beautiful paint scheme on a well made Mustang from 21st.

pickelhaube,

No your not a "blasphemer" and no I wont burn your house down for saying the 332nd Mustang is better looking then Tender Terror because it is a pretty paint scheme no doubt. But is a pretty paint scheme enough for me to go out and buy it? Nope.

Rec'd mine the other day and am extremely pleased with the paint job on this plane. The plane looks great and I highly recommend it. Time to box up my BBI 'Killer' to make room for this one.

I have to say this guys and thats that 21st now has the market over BBI when it comes to the P-51 Mustang. Now that they have corrected the prop and changed the tires to black instead of grey, which were the most glaring problems to me, I have to say that 21st has the most accurate Mustang on the market. "Bunny" is a beauty no doubt but I'm waiting for Old Crow to hit the market in its NMF scheme. Its going to look awsome sitting next to Tender Terror on my shelf.

Well, I saw one at a hardware store on Saturday. They had even taken it out of the box and put it in a plexi cabinet for display. Obviously stores can buy from Historic Aviation - but the price was ridiculous - $89.95
