If I get into this (which is getting more and more likely, unfortunately) I'll probably flock the bases of the figures. They will look a lot better than just having the black bases.....

Flock the bases? That crossed my mind as well.

Kamikaze, my wife would probably flipped too if she know I added that extra half a case to my order. I'll be buying a new Barbie Princess of the World doll real soon.

As for the Hellcats, if we all get this stuff and get an extra we can do some trading. I know that a Tiger I is 63 points so you can only have 1 in a 100 point army. Any extras are available for trade. Same with the Jagdpanther.

I heard that in the October Scrye (spelling?) magazine has a free half map that uses 50 point armies and the figs are in the starter set.

C'mon Ski, you know you want these.

I found that Scrye magazine yesterday. It has half of the the Baker-1 map and is uses 50 points of figs from the starter set.

The scenario is Avalanche....I think. I forget now and the mag is at home. It has to do with fighting in Italy.

I sure hope we get our goodies before 9/16. I'm excited, can't you tell???

I was able to find the diorama that was mentioned previously:

http://www.gamefest.com/_files/gamewire ... G_1992.jpg

LOL!! Not very impressive. I like the attention to detail, though. Tigers and Mk IVs always advance with their rear to the front. Well done.....

They did one hell of a job with the display to show that? sad..... The important thing is that at least history is being given some sort of light....

It doesn't hurt my interest in the game though. I really need to get the minis in my hand!

Yeah, I know. BUT, Heroscape will always be a FAR better value for money! You figure a Heroscape booster runs $10 at WM and each AAM booster runs the same, but with FAR inferior paint and figure quality. It's hard to fork over money for that, you know? If AAM wasn't WWII, I could of looked the other way. But nnooooOOOOOO!!!! It had to have little army men......

You know what? I think I see what the attraction is for me. This sorta reminds me of the old Helen of Toy games that I had as a kid that are now much missed. You know, the comic book war games. Woods Edge was my favorite. Add the Heroscape terrain and a little work on the figures and it will look really good as a straight miniatures wargame, much like Panzer wars or Command Decision.

I remember HoT!! I had the Exploding Bridge set with the 1/72 Marx soldier copies. That was the best $1.99 I spent that summer.

I get home BEFORE my wife and my sons are gamers as well so we have this "don't ask/don't tell" policy. 8)

"Where's your lunch money?" "I bought Magic cards with it."

I love it!!

Sure, the boosters will be "mini army sets" for the most part. That's going to be a blast opening them up and seeing what falls out onto the table.

Yippee!!!

No, she will notice when she sees an unexplained expenditure on the credit card bill. It's a killer every time! I just fess up and admit my sins up front. My wife is pretty used to it right now......

Hee hee hee

I used my debit card and had been saving a little bit before I used it. Plus, they don't charge you until they get the stuff in. I should be fine on that one.

I have a good wife who is understanding about my "addiction". My family room looks like a game store/toy soldier store.

Hey Kamikaze, just hurry and open your new goodies and crush the boxes really well and then hide'em. You'll be alright. 8)

I agree about the trading post for AAM.

I'll send a list to once I get my stuff in as well.

I'm hearing that they will be in game stores on 9/16 and will ship 9/19.

That's a looooooong wait. I need more pieces!!!

C2000

p.s. I'm sure that there's probably some other guys on here that will be tempted to buy/play this game and with them we'll have a large group of AAM players to trade with...hopefully.

Welcome aboard, Flammenpanzer.

I plan on trading even up with my stuff. I'll trade a $40 Tiger I for a $20 Pnzr II - not a problem. Tank for tank, uncommon for uncommon, etc.

I read on AH's forum that a guy in the Netherlands bought some from his FLGS. I sure hope we get our stuff early here - I'm running out of ideas with the starter figs.

WotC sent me the two cards for my Japanese MG teams. Yippee!! They are 7 points each and I've been able to battle against a 15 point U.S. force - what a tease!!!! Three pieces vs. two pieces. I need more pieces!!!!

The wait is killing me!!!!

At least you gotta couple! I definately agree with the straight across trading. The problem is, is that I want 3 of each mini. You know, that way you can put out a troop of Shermans or a Platoon or so of Tigers..... Just having one of each ain't enough, especially for upsizing the game using HS terrain...... You know damn well that 500-1000 point armies will become tournement standard.....

Not to change the subject, but I can't get on Heroscape.net, and Mr Bistro sent me a copy of the Valhalla times. I see that the new figures are being shown. Cool! Have you seen them?? Sentinels???

I do have some pieces. 8)

You're going to need ALOT of boosters to have a platoon of Tigers!!! The Group of Shermans and Pnzr IVs should be pretty easy to pull off. You'll get one of each in the starter set. They are uncommons and you'll get three uncommons in each booster. Of the 15 uncommons available, 7 are vehicles - jeep, Stuart, Sherman, Humber, 251, 222, and Pnzr IV. Average will be 1.5-2 per booster. There's a 1/15 chance to get a Tiger per booster. You're going to have to get another job or join another branch of the service.

I've been going to heroscapehq.com - the new site. I saw the new HS boosters at GENCON but I can't remember what most of them were or looked like. I do remember a cowboy/gunslinger type hero, gorillas with armor, shoalon monks, and some Celtic guys. There were also some double based marro(?) dog squads. These come out in October from what Craig said.

11 more days until AAMs are released!!!!

Yes, HS.net went down. There was something about that cat making T-shirts or something - trademark violations.

So, he's had everyone go to that new site. There is also a forum on that site for HS.net.

You'll be back in time for the UPS man to personally hand you a case of AAM.

Oh yes, I saw that castle in person - it looked really nice. I'll have to get a few packs of those pieces. They come out in 2006.

The AAM second booster set is due out on 12/7 and will have a Nashorn, King Tiger, T-34/85, JS-I, Chinese forces, Polish forces, and Rumanian forces. There is supposed to some Polish Cavalry units as well. It is supposed to have 45 new pieces and you are supposed to have atleast 2 or 3 vehicles/tanks per booster.

Toy time is right!! I'M going to have to get a second job or join the military!!

I don't understand why they are doing Chinese and Romainian forces. They could of expanded the current lines. How about Paratroopers? Add more French forces...... Oh well.....

'Ski,

They ARE going to have paras. There's also cavalry and another unit type that I can't remember. There will be other troop types to go with the first release.

Think about this, Chinese Vs. U.S. troops using T-34s Vs. Shermans - Korea!!!
