Oh yeah....I've been there plenty of times.... 
It's a terrific website with terrific stories, pics, and other things A-10 related. It's at the top of my "favorites" websites. 
They are aware of the 1/18 scale aircraft lines. I believe they had a thread on their forum about the A-10 prototype that 21st has when it was introduced years back. Another market for a 1/18 scale A-10 to be sold to. Hopefully some of their members are members here too.

Shortly after the YA-10 was declared the winner of the A-X Competition in January of 1973, it was pitted in another fly off with the A-7D Corsair II. An A-7DER was proposed which would be a stretched version of the A-7D incorporating the GAU-8 30mm cannon. The fly off was to determine if the A-7D could do the CAS (Close Air Support) mission more effectively than the new A-10 could. The fly off was conducted from April 15, 1974 unil May 10, 1974 at McConnell AFB and Fort Riley, Kansas. A YA-10 and an A-7D were flown by four Air Force pilots that had combat experience in F-100's and F-4's. Because of the YA-10's design, it was found to be more survivable, less expensive to operate, and more deadly. The YA-10 that was flown during this fly off was not fitted with a 30mm cannon, heads-up display (HUD), Maverick missile launch system, or any countermeasures equipment. One of the most impressive results was the endurance of the YA-10 "on station" in combat. It was found that carrying eighteen 500lb. bombs, the YA-10 could spend two hours "on station" 300 miles from base. The A-7D was only able to spend 11 minutes. The A-7DER proposal was killed and the A-10 was finally given the green light for full production.

The first Thanksgiving was a truly blessed event due to an A-10. With the 30 Cannon in the nose a single A-10 supplied enough turkeys for not only the few Pilgrims but for everyone living in the North East. The Turkeys were also plucked and cooked at the same time saving many hours in colonial kitchens.

When looking at an A-10 head on, you can see the 30mm cannon is slightly offset to its left. Only one barrel of the cannon fires at a time and the offset was designed so that the firing barrel is aligned with the centerline of the A-10. This offset design helps cancel the 10,000 lb. recoil effect from the cannon that would otherwise be unacceptable. Even with this recoil force cancelled out, when the cannon is fired there is a very noticeable effect, the airspeed is reduced by several knots.

Santa Clause in a move to improve efficiency has bought ten A-10's equipped with the new 30MM Coal Cannon Eliminating the need for several teams of Reindeer. Santa says "Now I can shoot out coal to the bad children in just a fraction of the time. The good children are still recieving thier toys in the traditional way. Parents complain that low flying aircraft in the house cause earaches. Santa replied, "Blame your kids."

That's why most bursts are only a few seconds long.....
A barrel cooling unit rotates the barrels right after the cannon has stopped firing to allow cooling air to flow around the hot barrels. Another amazing fact is that the entire gun system is installed by using only six bolts....
