Here on the far East coast we don't have water coolers but water softeners and they are usually in the basement.
I just can't see a mom or dad picking up a $100 toy that is 28" long with a 39" wing span for junior. While it could be a beautiful model it would never be a child's toy (although I built smaller ones as a child myself- but even they were pretty big. Monogram maybe.) and even as a collectors item I just don't see more than a niche market. At least not enough to pay for the molds.
But I could be wrong. Very wrong.
Would a 1/32 B-17 sell at WM?

I agree. Only one WM in my AO got the new-tool BBD's and Old Crows.
