Just the 109, P-47 and P-51 repaints? Where are the Zeros and Macchis?

Wow, we are tough to please....
I doubt every new plane will go to every store. Just like you saw the new 1:18 Stuka & Corsair but not the P-51...similarly what goes around may not come around at WM.

I hear you Tman, it's the same here in Miami with these dog-gone Wallys and TRUs. Always the same stuff and a long wait for the newer models.

And in the west as well!!! I was just at a couple stores in my area yesterday and there was nothing new in 32x, still a couple more to check and I may have to wait a week for the stuff to trickle down. At least they're here!

I found the 32x Macchi's and Zero's at a Wal Mart in Fresno, Ca. :D The assortment was the same as described in Bruzzer's earlier post. I'm in the process of opening & assembling the planes now. They appear to be the best 32x planes to date!

I also found the new 32x ME-109E repaint and Polish P-47 repaint at another store in my area.

Here's my review and some quick pictures 8) I've only posted a sample of the pictures on this post, the rest can be seen on my website in the 32x Zero & Macchi album: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/shampts@s ... 2e&.view=t

As I said earlier, these are the best 32x aircraft ever! If the FW-190D9 was the best previous attempt, these surpass it by far. The 32x P-51 and ME-109E, hardly compare. The Zero and Macchi are essentially models and not toys. The 32x line and the 1:18 line are in for some serious business if the quality on future releases is kept up.

The Zero's level of detail is on par with the 1:18 BBI version. There is alot of detail in the cockpit, with all the controls, insturments, guns, and even the O2 bottles, though the instruments seem to be holes and aren't painted. I like how the cowling flaps on the engine are extended. The landing gear retracts and closes up well. The tailhook lowers and the tail wheel even locks. The engine is extremely well detailed as well. The pilot is an accurate Japanese pilot, and looks like the BBI version. You have to attach the antenna mast, pitot tube and optional cannon barrels seperately. The droptank is also detachable and the aircraft assembles in a very similar manner to the 1:18 BBI version... There are no moving control surfaces. This plane will go very well with the 32x AVG P-40.

The Macchi is on par with the detail of the Zero and is one of the more unique planes I have seen made as a small-scale "toy." It has very detailed and minute markings and the cockpit, though very tiny, is amazingly detailed with all the instruments and controls painted. The figure is a little thin so it can fit into the cockpit, and its a tight squeeze. The pilot is also well detailed, and even has the parachute moulded on. As with the Zero, you have to attach the antennas and pitot tubes; they came attached to a plastic tree, very much like in a model kit. The landing gear retract well, but don't exactly lock in place when extended. There are no moving control surfaces. Still, its an amazing plane and would go well with the 32x tropical ME-109E or the RAF P-40.

If the newest 21c 32x planes have this sort of quality, one can only speculate what the new 1:18 P-51s and the Avengers will be like. Happy hunting :D

Man, those are just unreal for the price. Excellent work Tman. To think what an equivelant model would cost is scary. Those look like 1:18 planes!!

I have said before and will say again: it is clear where 21st's efforts are, and anything you wish we had in 1:18 will be done in 1:32. It is becoming harder than ever to resist 1:32 - it used to be just the armor but now with such detailed AC in a smaller size it is near impossible to resist. :? All you guys on the 1:18 side clamoring for a 190A, I suggest you start collecting 1:32  At the rate things are going (in both scales) I say 1:32 has more planes than 1:18 shortly.

Found the macchi, army and navy zeros in a CA hi-desert Walmart north of LA. Got the Capt. Lanowski P-47D, Ridge Runner P-51D, and wasp squadron ME-109E-4 planes at another nearby Walmart. Not sure if these are the new planes, but they're new to me! Also found a couple of the Matchbox 1/72 Sherman 76 and 75s that scanned as "matchbox planes". Picked them up so I will have some opposing allied armour for the Adminral panzer III when it arrives. I left behind a few Matchbox 1/72 planes, including a Cosair that sorely tempted me!

North Scottsdale on Bell (sp?) Road -

Just got a call from my brother who is in Arizona on vacation, boy do you guys have it good out west...he reported 4 1/32 Zeros, at least one Macchi, P-47, Flak guns, Stugs, and other 1/32 goodies. He also reported 1:18 Marines, Sahara figs, WC-51, BT P-47 & 109. I couldn't hope to get any paint schemes out of him but I thought it was pretty good recon from cross country. Sounds like a bounty at that store. 8)

Anything east of Arizona? (Atlanta and surrounding environs); I think a little patience may be necessary. A couple of 1/18 ridge runners are still sitting on the shelf, neat, but the 1/32 aircraft are missing my display cases real bad.. How is the eastward progression going?

Reading a report in the 1:18 forum, someone may have found the new P-47, P-51 and ME-109 repaints as far east as New York  Zeros and Macchis haven't made it that far yet, I don't think.

It seems like the new planes landed on the west coast and the repaints landed on the east coast... :? And, of course, I am dead smack in the middle.. :(

Luckily, Tman came thru for me and I will soon have a Zero in my hands..
