Hey guys no matter how much I would want to take part in this contest I cant and heres 2 reasons.

1- The Avenger is going to be the jewel of jewels when it comes to WW 2 Fighters by 21st. So I have to save space for when I get it.

2-I already have BBI's P-51 "Killer" and I ordered and paid for the BBI repaint "Hurry Home Honey". Which will be here August if not before. So two good looking Mustangs are good enough for me.

That being said I hope those that are playing the contest get lucky and win a Mustang but me I'm waiting for the mighty Avenger.

Best of luck guys for as the last person said: "We are airplane junkies" and I'm damn proud of it too!

No luck involved - play by the rules and win the Mustang. That simple. :D

Btw, just pre-ordering planes from BC does not mean you paid unless you told them to charge your card which is the same as giving them an interest free loan.......not wise....

Well digger I already paid for the Mustang because so then I dont have to worry about having the money in my acct when the Mustangs arrive at BC. That way its done and paid for. I cancelled the "Cripes A Mighty" repaint because I have already one built in model form so I dont need another. Besides the 357th is my favorite WW 2 Fighter Group and when I saw BBI is repainting their Mustangs in the 357th Fighter Group colors I jumped at it. On top of all that the aircraft thats going to be depicted "Hurry Home Honey" I saw at an airshow and the pilot who flew it Major Richard Peterson was born and raised in Alexandria Mn, not to far from where I live.

So BC got paid early. I dont consider it an interest free loan, I consider it to be a good investment on my part.

:? after reading all the messages i'm very disgusted : no WM in France ! i can't play with you ! since i'm new to this hobby i thought this offer is nice the FW 190 D9 is the a mean machine ! (our national hero-ace Pierre Clostermann in is book "the big show" - "Le grand Cirque" is stating that it's one of the toughest fighter of WW2 ! and he was flying a Hawker tempest !!!!!!!!!) - I wish to have an 1:18 Tempest to fight against all the 190 you guys are going to buy !!!!!!!!!!!

I feel for you in being a collector and not being able to find all the stuff you want, however... Thank your lucky stars that you don't have Wal Marts in France!! While a WM on the scale they are here in the US wouldn't fit in the center of Paris, they could easily be built in the suburbs and countryside. Bad thing though is that the store would completely wipe out any competition putting many smaller markets & stores out of business and giving a traditional French village a materialist American flavor. I've heard stories of angry protesters destroying McDonalds restruants in France, so I'm sure the last thing they would want is a Wal Mart!

BTW, across the channel in England there are ASDA stores, which are owned by the Wal Mart corporation. They do not have XD, however.

So does it matter what you pay for the planes? I can buy 4 planes for $14 each and still qualify for the free one? In my travels I came across some 190 Chevrons and Black 12's for $14 but they either had broken guns or little flaws in the paint. I COULD go buy good 190's at full price at one store, get the broken/crappy paint jobs on clearance at $14, then return the broken ones using the full price receipts and then I'd have good planes for $14 each AND a P51.... Dang, that's a lot of trouble. Ill have to think about that one......

YES.. I emailed 21st Century about this and they said it doesn't matter what you paid for them as long as you buy them from Walmart.. Unfortunately, I can't get them on clearance here..

wm69-
So can you share the wealth on the $14 FW 190's??
I would be willing to pay you $10 each for the receipts and proofs of purchase and you could keep the plane.
Let me know- email me: wave17019@fuse.net

I tried to get my local Walmart to discount a FW 190 that had no plastic and the pilot's left arm was missing. Some manager told me that 10% is all they could give off the plane! What a deal!!! - not.

Well, the problem with that is all the ones that are still there are broken or have flawed paint jobs. They had 12 to start and I think I left 5 there. This is in a WAAAY out of the way WM where the toy guy really doesn't like XD. I picked up some winter ME109's there last year for $10 (sold some, used a couple to trade).

Razor PM'd you. I'll let you know one way or the other when I get back down that way....

 i can'y believe it ! you guys can buy for 14 dollars an 1:18 FW 190 !!!!!! I can't qualify to the game (no WM in France !) but i can help some of you guy getting rid of some to qualify ! (of course i will pay the shipping and the incredible price !!!!!) let me know if someone is interested ! a poor avition buff from France !

PS : i was laughing reading the comments about no WALMART in France and you are right for this kind of retail (already existing in France) there is more and more problems in order to save the small shops and even McDONALDS was no match to our small producers I really think that we French are the craziest on this planet .... but no dangerous :P

I was just wondering if the 190's are disappearing from WM's shelves in your local areas. I visited 2 WM's outside of my local area and still found quite a few sitting on the shelves. My local WM's in Northern CA still have quite a few too.

Anyone that has sent in on this contest heard anything back? I was wondering if they will contact you with something. Maybe an e-mail, letter, or etc.

Or is it going to be like the Storm Shadow mail-in. I didn't even get a letter saying that they were gone and return of my joe points. I think that was crap from Hasbro. I guess they have better thinks to do than worry about the fan base. I just hope 21st C is different in that reguards.

No they didn't, but we will have to wait to be contacted with more details. I think they are working on that as of other things. I'll post as soon as I know.

The contest isn't over yet is it? With ongoing score I can't imagine they could just end it early :?
