Re: 1/18 Scale Sdkfz 251 Customs
So no plans to do the night vision gear? (scope & spot light) that could be used on the Panther as well?

Well, it is to early to tell.
I have a lot of stuff planned and we shall see how popular it moves.
That big searchlight will be a challenge and if only 5 guys want it.
That project may be a little upside down.
Re: 1/18 Scale Sdkfz 251 Customs
Lets keep in mind that we could only choose one favorite on the poll, but many of us have a second favorite or would like to get more than one kit.I did not vote for the search light but will definitely be interested on it.And will really like one for my Panther.

Re: 1/18 Scale Sdkfz 251 Customs
I could take or leave the big search light, it would be cool but what I really want are the simpler smaller scope and IR search light to put on the drivers hatch and the MG43 and another few sets for a Panther...

Re: 1/18 Scale Sdkfz 251 Customs
Jnew, there is some metal 1/16 IR gear for sale on ebay that could potentially be modified to work for some IR uses. I have a set and it's pretty good, given the scale.
Here is the seller. He doesn't appear to show it in his listing but I'm sure he has more if you ask.

I would dearly love to have a 251/23 with your 222 turret. Great selection, too bad we couldn't choose from all of them.

Well like I said earlier if this project seems popular I will build it.
The T-34/76 sold like gangbusters. The T-34/85 not so much. But the kits are starting to sell . Now.
I was going to do the Su-85 after the 34/85 but it interest peeterd out. After I get caught up on a lot of back orders. ( yours is one ) I will start this project in this order.
C back date
251/23
Tarps/covers full for the C model full for the D model and 3/4 cover. The 3/4 cover one size fits all.
Radio with large top cover antenna
PAK 37
Stummel
IR ?

Re: 1/18 Scale Sdkfz 251 Customs
I have neglected you armor guys for too long.
Maybe in about a week or two this project will be a go.
Here are a few pics of the tarpaulin. This is the " high " top for the ambulance .
I will do the shorter standard tarp as well and a 3/4 length "rolled back " rendition.

The tarp looks good.It changes the vehicle appearance. It looks like a cargo vehicle. And the best thing it will be so easy to paint and install.
I will place my order next week.
I will be in for the other two different tarps.

I will be in for the other two different tarps.

I made a few test pours of the AMBULANCE cover and they came out great !!!
These are the " taller "covers next will be the " standard " tarpaulin covers .
So if anyone is interested I will start taking orders on them.
$20 with about $5 for the shipping.
I take paypal as well as money orders. Checks are OK from established members.
PM me.

Yes I will . The next one will be the shorter " standard " cover .
After I make a mould and cast them , I will take one and cut it down to make the new 3/4 master. So I will not have to cut the original standard master.
Maybe in a week or so for the both of them.

Will that one go all the way to the rear? if so should the rear MG42 be removed?
