FOV sure has hit the ground running! I think between Unimax and Bbi and Dragon, theres still hope in the Military Collectibles area, those two most certainly have raised the bar and I hope companies like 21st can continue the tradition and start keeping up with the Joneses (Bbi/Fov/Dragon and Corgi for that matter)

21st is the one that really started it all in the first place, making the decently priced 1:18 and 1:32 vehicles, as well as the detailed 1:6 figures and large accessories. BBI, FOV, and Dragon are merely following suit. Sure 21st hit a snag a couple years back, but they've recovered and will show the others whose boss.

As for vehicles and planes smaller than 1:32, I think Corgi, Dragon, and a few others had been doing those for a while and the very small scales are not really an area 21c chooses to compete in.

21st may have "started it all" in offering low cost 1:32, but as far as diecast goes, I believe the Matchbox Collectibles line drew in the greatest numbers of new enthusiasts with their highly detailed diecast planes and tanks that were available at mass merchandisers at a value price.

Regardless, the more the merrier.

Competition is a wonderful thing.

I'd have to agree with the Matchbox and the 1:72 & smaller scales!
