Just how Screwed up Wally is: AVG P-40 found!!!

Post by Coreyeagle48 » Thu Aug 16, 2007 5:22 pm

Went into Walmart today and strolled through the toy section not expecting much of anything. Low and behold, I found five AVG P-40's on the shelf. Five of them!!! I missed them awhile back so I grabbed the best one and went home.

How long ago were these out??? LOL

Just very interesting to see a AVG P-40 NOW!!!

This may be the new AVG P-40 that showed up at web retailers a few months ago..

Wish they would come out with an E model or later. A 1:32 Aleutian tiger would be nice.

I don't think these are the old AVG P-40. You can easily tell the difference by the aircraft ID number painted on the side:

Old P-40 (R.T. Smith) -- #47
New P-40 (Tex Hill) -- #48

There's a few other small differences in the markings as well. Based on paintscheme alone, I prefer the first AVG P-40

A saw a couple of them when I picked up my Corsair/Zero set, but I was put off by the absence of the Chinese markings on the wings.

They're in there, but they are stickers you have to apply yourself.
