Wanted: 1:18 XD Avenger

Post by Jay » Wed Mar 21, 2007 3:24 pm

I'm considering buying/ordering this bird but because of some high etail prices and extremely high shipping costs am considering buying a slightly substandard one.

If anyone has an ex-walmart one (or even a spare mint condition one!) at a low price please let me know along with any defects the plane may have. Also could you let me know the box dimensions and the total weight of the package. I am still sifting through the internet to find a good shipping price. I have found this website: www.shipbuktu.com/ which allows a seller in the states to send to a US address so you may only need to pay for shipping there (at which point NZpost handle the shipping from the States down to New Zealand). Payment method will be through Western Union.

Anyway, if anyone thinks they have an avenger to spare you can just post some pics and we can sort out an inital conversation.
Note: all dialogue will be through this public forum page until a definite sale point is reached. We may then swap private details through PM's.

Hey tankduel, yeah, my buddy and I hope to make it saturday. Are you there all day? We may be there around lunchtime. Still humming and harring about bringing some planes. I could bring the: stuka, mustang, corsair, zero, 109, sabre and starfighter along with the panzer and tiger. I would love to check out an avenger in the flesh, so to speak. Let me know about schedule times and how much room there will be to display stuff. Is the display area cordoned off or can people easily pick up stuff (and when I say people I mean snot nosed little children).

Kevrut: yeap, thanks for the PM. I'm still sorting through shipping deals and stuff. Hopefully Ill see the avenger at the exhibition tankduel is talking about so I can get a better idea of size and weight and stuff (seriously, one etailer is charging $270NZ dollars just to ship the thing! but I think I can get way cheaper). Anyway, yes I'm definitely interested so will keep in touch. Is there any rush to sell it at your end or is it just a spare one in your collection ?

Hi Jay,
Bring it all if you can fit it in, it's fun showing them off! and our stuff together will make some great pics. Just stack the planes in layers in the back seat/boot with towels in between, thats what I do :D I will be there all day Sat and Sun and it will be a roped off area where there's plenty of room.
You can leave it on display safely while you check out the re-enactments and stuff, they are doing the Kiwis Vs the Turks this year amongst others.Tell the front desk at MOTAT 2 that you and your mate are with the tank club and they will let you in free and bring your car in the gate and unload stuff into display at the rear (outside) of hangar.

Look forward to catching up!
Neville

Man, I wish I was in New Zealand this weekend. It sounds like you guys are going to have a blast!

It would be great if either of you would take a camera and capture some shots for the board - so we all can see what you guys got down there...

No hurry here. I posted them for sale last month and there were no takers. Take your time.

Thanks, Kevin.
