Still want the F-5?
I for one still want to see the Tiger made. I think it will sell well to a large demographic and fund r/d for bigger 1/18 fighters. Also the weapons swapping capability between this, the phantom and skyraider make for versatile releases and payloads.

Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:
F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle
F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle
Sure - if we were confident that we could pick one up at wallyworld for $39.99. It would take up no more space than the F-104 (both box and actual) and is a cool looking jet. The repaints would be many so money would be made (that sounds like a rap song). Anyway, planes like the F-8 that are mentioned in other posts would be nice (nicer?) but tossin' out $70 - $90 bucks a pop is too much.
Besides, gotta save money for those "fours"...

I am all about getting more aircraft. And, I would take an F-5 if they made one. But, if I had my drothers, I would rather see something else come out first. The F-5 is pretty far down on my list of wants. The Typhoon is way up there and so is the B-model Mustang, Macchi, Komet and Do 335 Pfiel (Arrow).

Yes- in fact i will not buy another model (except for the Dauntless) until a f-5 arrives-the F-4 and the Skyraider will just be to big for my liking....
I think-maybe...Anyway-give me a A4 Skyhawk,F-5,Hurricane and a Harrier,and i`ll be among the first in the line......

Let me put some minds at ease. I never said Admiral Toys was producing an F-5. If you need to do an extensive search on this aircraft, I think the closest you will come to me saying we were doing an F-5 is when you I said “my lips are sealed.” It was your ubiquitous smoke screen for the F-4.
I do not know whose F-5 mysteriously showed up on eBay several months ago. It was not Admiral Toys’ F-5. I know this because we are not producing an F-5. I still think it would be a nice aircraft. I personally love the lines. You will not see an F-5 until we can offer an F-14 to chase the thing… “Maverick…I’ve got the ball.” And no, we do not have an F-14 in the works. Our production schedule is pretty full with some awesome aircraft.
Regards,
Jason

I voted yes by the way.

G'day all
I'd be up for at least two VNAF and Swiss AF for me.
Jason thank you for the confirmation, although it is sad news to learn that AT is not making the A-5.
If not an AT item then it must be 21stCT item, as there must be a gazillion re-paints and it should easily fit in a box smaller than an avenger, if I remember rightly these are the key factors that determine what they produce, sorry could not resist the sarcasm

It is possible BBI item, we've not seen anything new from them in a while. They are producing the Hellcat but I would like to see something else in 1/18 from them.Spudkopf wrote:G'day all

Is it my first choice? No, I'd prefer a MiG-21 or MiG-17 (or a Hind for that matter). But, I definitely would like to get one of these, since I've decided to stop buying WWII and stick with modern jets. To go with all my other obscure paint schemes, I'd love to do a Botswana F-5.

I see the F-5 more as a distraction then an attraction, I mean if there are all these 1:18 aircraft that we want to be made in 1:18, Modern, WWII, or Korea, why would they make an F-5? An F-5 in my book is a distraction from the aircraft that we want to be made.
If you guys want a US Navy aggressor then push for the A-4 Skyhawk
An A-4 makes more sense to me; it has a combat record and served in Vietnam
I Voted No F-5, sorry
How ever
I do say make the F-5 after every thing else has been made.

I think the question is, since there was that "prototype" on eBay, who wants it. I think most everyone wants something else first, but who's interested if an F-5 sees the light of day. It goes along with other releases - yes, you could consider the Walker Bulldog, F-104, and Sahara figures "distractions", but I still bought them and enjoy them.VMF115 wrote:I see the F-5 more as a distraction then an attraction, I mean if there are all these 1:18 aircraft that we want to be made in 1:18, Modern, WWII, or Korea, why would they make an F-5? I say make the F-5, it is a nice looking plane with an interesting history, and just because the USAF didn't want it doesn't mean squat in my opinion. And by the way, the F-5 saw combat in Vietnam too, flying more than 3,500 sorties, ever heard of the Skoshi Tiger?? I say yes to the F-5
