When I was about seven or eight years old, in the candy store/soda fountain, across the street, where they sold magazines, odds and ends, and TOYS, I discovered sets of what were probably about 1/72 scale soldiers- Americans, Union and Confederate. They came in sets of six, were hard metal, painted, with integral stands (easily broken off by a seven year old's play) and came in a cardboard box, cellophane window on one side and lined up in a row as if on parade for easy viewing.

I do not have any idea of the company that made (or imported) them, have never seen them anywhere else (including eBay and flea markets) than in that little corner store.

Any body have a clue?
