I know there are a few Conte plastic collecters, but for his latest news release go to the Marx board, it is there.
Conte is saying in the future he will be doing WW2 GI,s and more SS, having said that, all you Conte collecters will know that the above news should be taken with a huge grain of salt. But if there is any truth, that would be great news.

re: Painting Conte
Just for your info George at Minuteman paints Contes, what he charges I don,t know.
painting figures...
there are some of who would paint figures, BUT I don't know if you will like the prices. For a Conte US paratrooper, doing a basic job I'd probably charge $15 per figure, and even then I'd only be getting about $2/hr for my time. On the good news - the Conte figures are very nice and have some of the BEST US Army web gear ever done in plastic. One the bad news - that soft plastic leaves rifles that bend and is hard to totally get the mold lines removed without a LOT of effort.
Back in the "old days" when Marx figures were still sold at dime stores I used a bunch of them to practice painting. You can still get some cheaper plastic figures and a book on painting. Figure painting is a matter of hand-eye coordination, you learn by doing.

Hey at $20.00 a box and some paints just give it a shot. Youll find its not that hard. Especially if your not looking for K&C results.
The only problem I have ever had with painted plastic is that after painted it can crack and chip????I clear coat but its just not all that. My nephues would destroy my conte figures in seconds!
On a side note SDTS seems to have some sort of connection with Conte? Their figures are made to match, they always get a better selection of Conte figures and play sets? Maybe their WWII venture was for a reason? We can hope?
