LGB Truss Bridge

Post by flpickupman » Tue Aug 01, 2006 6:56 am

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I figured it fits in with custom dioramas and such, so here it is.

I located a website that has the LGB brand Truss Bridge for about $25 shipped. That's not a bad price for a 17.75 inch (450mm) bridge.

Well, it's almost 18 inches long, so I'd estimate the width to be about 6 or 7 inches, and the height to be roughly 4 or 5 inches from deck to top rail. I hope to be receiving mine sometime next week, and I'll post full dimensions then. It's G scale at any rate, and should work well with XD.

Here's one website:

Just scroll down to part #50600. Looks like it's only 12 BPS.

Or you can Google LGB 50600.

Razor,

Just got my bridge, and here are the dimensions. L=17 3/4", W=6 1/4", H=3 1/2". The width inside the truss beams is 5 13/16", and the deck for the railroad track is 3 9/16" wide.

What I really like about it is that I didn't have to assemble anything, a la Pola. 8)

Greetings citizen, your request for information on the Laser Guided Bomb has been noted. Please make sure your Paranoia Filter is set to "Oh [insert favoured omnipotent entity here], they really are out to get me" level and turn yourself in to your nearest interrogation centre.

This announcement has been brought to you by the "The freakingly stupid 'websense' filter tripped out on WHAT??" division of "101 reasons not to websurf from work"

But cor blimey guv, can you imagine a Laser-Guided TallBoy or GrandSlam? Anyone made them in 1/18th? Or a Lanc to carry them?

This is my "O" Scale train bridge. It's only big enough for jeeps and kublewagons. I'd say it's a little small for XD. A tank can't fit on it. My command car won't even fit on it.(Too wide.) I'd say to scale, it's got a 5 ton weight limit. :)

I discovered this afternoon that the 21st Sherman will just fit on the LGB bridge. To try it for real would result in a custom paint job. lol
