Mike,
Just got my Green Zero in the mail yesterday.
WOW! What a cool looking plane!
I can't believe that there is no screw to hold the wings onto the body of the plane.

Cockpit and pilot are so detailed!

Mike,

I thought you stated earlier in this thread that the Combat Command line would not be on your site since it is a retailer exclusive line and your site was not made for that? I noticed that you have a page under construction for the Combat Command line now, is Combat Command no longer a Target/Retailer Exclusive? Thanks.

I'd also like to add that the green Zero is a beauty. Like the original Zero (Pearl Harbor), one of the wings doesn't fully attach to the fuselage, leaving a small space between the two surfaces. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm wondering if by filing the bottom of the cockpit assembly a little the problem can be solved.

Did a great job as usual BBI. Thank you very much for a beautiful model.

I concur with eddie372 on the gap on the wing of the BBI Zero.
Try as I might, I can not get that wing to "snap" into place.

Mike-
Is there an easy fix to this?
or do I need to get out my big hammer, duck tape and box of HO HOs?

As my own personal comment; sliding the gun barrels forward a bit not only makes a more realistic look, as the gun barrels will protrude a more accurate amount, but it also helps the cockpit snap in place better....you need to push the cockpit pretty hard and make sure it is aligned well.

Hi Mike,

Me again mate. The Target exclusives from BBI. I was able to get the whole first series when they came out,thank`s to kind friends in the US.
Is there any plans to incorporate more articulation from the Target exclusives to mainstread BBI?
What i`m trying to say Open leg articulation (articulated hips) they going to come in on the normal BBI range?
Adding the Elbow was a fantastic move from the Superhumvee driver onwards. I`d just like to see the figures with open leg articulation for riding bikes,sitting in vehicles in various poses,combat poses etc.

I know shipping wise Target exclusives or standard BBI to the UK are NOT planned (Great shame I know). Is there ever going to be a BBI sponsered site though for us Internationals to buy from? I know a lot of the guys here & on various other boards have been kind & looked after me though would be nice NOT to have to keep bothering them.

Lastly, Modern British,not repaints as we had before but actual British sculpted figures,they in the pipeline for the future? Same goes for WWII British too Inf & Airborne WOULD BE OUTSTANDING

So are they planned?

Hi Mike

I would like to put my vote in for a site that would carry the whole bbi range for us international customers. I just wish corgi would decide to pick up the rest of your fantastic line. i would also love to see more articulation in the modern figures and perhaps new accessories like claymores, fragmentation grenades, strobes, sat gear etc.
Also would love to see a land rover, sea king and harrier. Each of these vehicles could be coloured in multiple nations colour schemes the land rover cold be done in desert and woodland for the royal marines and for the us rangers.
just a suggestion but would love to see them

Mike I have some questions for ya. One is whats the deal on pic of the 1/18th Old Crow P-51 Mustang I saw? Is this ever going to be released to the general public? Or was it just a mock up paint scheme for display purposes? I would like to get one if BBI ever decides to release it.

Second. Does BBI plan on doing some repaints of their classic F4U Corsair? BBI put out the best Corsair on the market and I would hope BBI would consider doing some different paint schemes of some famous aces such as Kepford, Boyington ect.

And last but not least. I know its a wait and see thing with BBI but do they have plans on ever releasing an F6F Hellcat in 1/18th scale to go along with the BBI Zero releases? This is a fighter plane that deserves to recognized in the 1/18th field and the demand for it is very strong. And if BBI puts as much detail and care into it as they did with the Mustang and Corsair it will be a huge seller.

I found some Hornets for sale on ebay that the sellers says are in plain cardboard boxes with a stick on lable from the factory. He got them from a Sears store in Ontario Canada. Can you shed some light on why these Hornets would be in plain boxes w/o printing or a window?

As you can see, they are custom paint schemes (you can see the brush lines). The Corsair will be the wrong version once again for a post-war paint scheme, hehe.....

Well it looks like they have added the correct cannons for a -4 or -5 Corsair. Lets hope the final product will have chin scoop and Four blade prop. That would be sweet!!!!

Hey its the "Old Crow" P-51D!

Should they release it SHE BE MINE!!!! It will go great with "Hurry Home Honey". The more P-51's from my all time favorite fighter group the 357th the better I say.

As for the Corsair? Another air show version? Well then that dashes my dreams for a historically correct WW 2 version for now it seems. I will have to pass on that one.

. The cannons are from the F4U-4B and are reversed on the model. The rest is still the F4U-1D version. And a non-historic paint scheme

. It's pretty and will probably sell in the store, though.

I, too, wish that one of the manufacturers would re-tool their Corsair to represent the F4U-4; it would only need the new cowl, 4-blade prop, and a little adjustment on the canopy. They'd have a new bird without having to start from scratch. And can then really do the Korean version Corsairs accurately.

Glad to hear that the P-51 is exciting our forum folks. Again, I think that the BBI Pearl Harbor Zero was also one of the best from any manufacturer yet; followed by the green Zero.

...well let me give it to you straight .......the cowl is not a separate piece in our model but actually part of the fuselage, so your "simple re-tool" is not as easy as you would have it.
To create later model U-birds we would need to re-tool the entire fuselage and also there are different exhaust locations, different intake locations and different cowl lengths for the dash 4 and dash 5 models.

So basically a totally new model...you can guess the rest I'm sure"

Mike's right BBI would have to do a total new retool of their Corsair mold to make a -4 or -5 F4U. That aint as easy as it seems I'm sure. Their current mold is just fine in fact its awsome! I just wish BBI would do a re-paint of a WW 2 Corsair with historical markings like 21st did with their Bunker Hill Corsair. But maybe down the road.
