I did this River Ironclad a couple of years back for a museum .
They made copies of it for local schools I am told.

99% scratch built out of styrene except the ladders I was able to buy those off of the shelf.
I also used styrene tubes for the stacks.
The side gun walls were made of styrene and I used a strip of zip ties in the center .
I used brass tubes for the core of the cannons applied rings of styrene and spun them in a drill to get the shape.

Aprx 14" long about 1/85 scale

There was one named after a nearby city of Cincinnati.
On the Vicksburg battlefield, the USS Cario is on display and you are able to walk her decks.
Amazing! She sank in 1862 by a confederate mine detonated by electricity on shore.
She sank in a very short time, but all survived.
The ship was found and raised in the 1960's.

Have you considered doing a M3 Stuart Light tank? I’ve searched everywhere for a model in the 1/16 to 1/18 scale and have yet to find one. 1/35 scale is the largest out there?

The Stug IV's and Jagdpanthers are also excellent, your paint schemes are fantastic.
I'm currently finishing up my 3rd King Tiger kit that you made and then the Stug IV kit.

I did have another question aside from the KT turret numbers, what did you use to glue the
rubber Tiger tracks together?...two pieces per side four places to glue in total.

I have a local signmaker who makes stencils for me.
They also make the crosses and stars.
I even had them make the First in Bastogn markings.

I used thick CA glue to join the tracks together with plenty kicker.

I completed this one last week and it is now at its home.
Blue 332
Story Of Blue 332
Late in the war in the middle of the night an M-4 Sherman happened unto Blue 332.
The Sherman commander and crew did not know if it was abandoned or not so they fired a star shell over the top of the tank.
The crew of the Tiger were asleep and the star shell made them think that the tank was on fire so they bailed out.
All of the crew were shot except one , who made it out and escaped.
The Sherman commander had an idea of taking this newly captured Tiger and kill another Tiger with it !
Well he ran out of gas before he was able to do so.
It was commandeered by officials and shipped to the States were it is today.
It now resides at Aberdeen with the port side of the turret cut out for viewing.
I have done my best to capture the paint scheme of how it sits now

Matthew you've done an amazing job on this Tiger II build and the paint job looks great!
The foam / rubber tracks you made make the build much quicker. I'm finishing up the third
one I got from you.


Tiger 332 has recently been moved to the U.S. Armor and Calvary Collection at Ft. Benning, I
believe it arrived there in October of 2021. Going to have to make plans to visit the museum
when it opens to the public.
