Off to a good start.
The tracks are the worst.
Once you get passed those , it should be smooth sailing.

" Off to a good start. " Its only taken me three and a half years to start...
Its a nice kit! The tracks just take time, when they're done they look great.
Back to work.....

Thanks guys! As far as a camo scheme zelda, I'm thinking something similar to your 322 tricolor,
we'll see.
we'll see.

Wow Pickle, I never saw this one. I got the Jagdpanther version. This Tiger is excellent. Do you still have the molds or are they toast?

Looking good, Normandy! Are the tracks separate links held with the pins and do they roll? Separate track links are always a tedious process to install, but do come out looking better than the rubber ones

Re: Pickelhaube Jagdtiger
The tracks that go around the drive sprocket and rear return wheel are separate links held with pins,
the upper and lower sections between the drive sprocket and rear return wheel are one piece. You can
see it in the second picture.
Thankfully Matthew cast the upper and lower sections to speed up construction. This part of the build
takes the most time and can be hazardous, this afternoon one of the steel pins found its way into my thumb.
All is well, I was able to pull it out.

Re: Pickelhaube Jagdtiger
Got a coat of primer on the tracks...
The tracks can be a pain (in the thumb) but as I said above thankfully Matthew cast the upper and lower sections so
there are 2 of each. Otherwise there would be 38 x 2 upper pieces of links to pin together and 32 x 2 for the lower plus
the 2 sprockets and 2 return wheels.
Here's hoping for calm seas and a good breeze....

I hear you with those pins, I have managed to stab myself twice working on the Hind.normandy wrote:The tracks that go around the drive sprocket and rear return wheel are separate links held with pins,

Re: Pickelhaube Jagdtiger
If you make a styrene washer from the 1/16 styrene for the drive wheels you use the washer to make drive wheel a little bit wider on this tank you can use the 1/16 tiger track they sell for all the 1/16 tigers. This track is the same design and is the same size, but then you have a moveable track.
just a thought.
just a thought.

Excellent work! Can’t wait to see the finished and weathered product. And yeah, like Pickle said, it does look good without the fenders. Is there any type of interior that you did with it?

Re: Pickelhaube Jagdtiger
Thanks guys. Tman there isn't an interior, Pickel made the rear doors on the fighting compartment / turret
so they could be made to open. The area the doors cover is solid and an opening has to be cut if the you
wanted to see into the tank. I thought about it but choose not to do one. The interior you did in your Brummbär
came out great!
Pickel with all the work you put into the tank treads I couldn't bring myself to covering them up.
I'm going to work some more on the paint, it may have been thinned to much. To me the finish is way to flat.
