Sven
Can you get them in 1/16 scale ?
If so you can cut them down to size and have them that way.
You can cut them in half front to back( avoid the front badge ) re-glue .
Then cut in half ear to ear and re glue
Then place on a sheet of sand paper sanding in a figure 8 .
The blades width from your saw could be enough if needed you can sand to wet your width.
A hat or helmet 1/18- 1/16 could be a matter of only 2-3 mm .
The idea is kind of like cutting a pie , cut an inch out of the pie horizontally then vierticly then put it back together you have a pie smaller in size .

Re: Need furred winter caps for german soldiers
Thanks Matthew
This would work. As an option I need to buy this head set from verlinden:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/311471532492?_tr ... EBIDX%3AIT
Expensive for just one needed cap. But it seems this is the only way.
Hoped for more interest from other forum members.
I believe Weylen could do such caps easily and cheaper.
Maybe he answer this post.

You should try getting the GI Joe 25th Anniversary Big Bear Figure. Hat might need a little modification to get rid of the Russian star, (and it is sculpted to the figures head) but it is basically in 1/18 scale. You can usually pick them up on ebay for about $40. - Hope this Helps.

They make a reducer for resin casting too... Reduces casts by a certain amount, so you can theoretically take a 1/6 sculpt and eventually shrink to 1/18 or smaller. Weird stuff, but a neat idea.

Re: Need furred winter caps for german soldiers
Thanks for all the info. First I´ll try to get it done with the winter cap from the red head GI Joe figure.
I´ll let you know the results.
