Incredible P-38. Reminds me of A-10LOADER'S F-14 and the 1/18 P-51D and F6F on "Large Scale Planes"

Ironwing is still working on that P51. Did you see the sheet of aluminum skin he had made to cover the section of fuselage just ahead of the tail fairings? I kind of wonder how much 21C Mustang will actually be left when he is finished.

His P51 is coming along nicely too, and that Aluminum Skin looks awesome.

Honestly to me that is almost pointless. I admire the work and everything that goes into the planes but at the same time the reason we buy these things is so we don't have to go to extremes to display them. Seems to be sort of counter productive to do this much work to a toy. Just saying.

G'day Normandy. I agree , i buy these because of what they are, even though their are some major inaccuracies, but this show just what can be done by a dedicated Modeler ,but over all i am quiet happy with the stock standard 1:18 scale Model.

Eh, my thought is why not just make your own from scratch since the toy is ultimately so disappointing to you? It's basically what you're doing and you'd probably spend just as much.
Also not sure why he's working with acrylic so much when he could proto in wood and mold/cast so much of it himself in resin for probably less $. Acrylic isn't cheap.
Otherwise, pretty cool... Kinda odd to go through so much but NOT "fix" things you know are wrong but go to such lengths on other parts, but hey, to each their own.
