There's a good selection of PTE this year, at least at the one Big Lots I usually frequent... Lots to choose from and mostly newer items that have been released over the past 2-3 years, though a few "classics" sprinkled in. They have all the Chinese vehicles, armor, and helicopter as well as a few older favorites like the RIB and M151 Mutt with trailer. They had the F-18 this year as well as just about all the building sets, including a re-release of the command center structure. The 2-figure packs are nice, but I believe they are a scaled-down, more costly version of what were 3-figure packs. Overall, I didn't see anything that got me really jumping this year, though I did pick up the F-18. I may be able to customize it into some type of GI Joe aircraft...

It was really great to see the Command Post again. There's just a few sets that I'm still looking for. There's always next year.

So I finally got myself the PTE J-10 jet fighter... Really a nice little toy/model. More-or-less realistic design, good ordinance load, landing gear retract and close up completely in the fuselage. Only problem is its quite a bit under scale - but then all of the PTE aircraft are. Still, compared to many of the latest offerings from Hasbro, its a very well detailed and functional model! I've also picked up a couple of the PTE F-18s in this latest round, namely for custom work. While its a far cry in terms of accuracy and scale (coming from someone with two properly-scaled BBI F-18s) the PTE F-18 is a great toy and great to add to a GI Joe collection or something apart from the proper military replicas. I love the working airbreak feature, for one. For what they are, PTE items are great :D

The grenade launcher ammo box is still to this day one of my fav sci-fi background pieces. I paint 'em, I add greeblies, I do whatever and they just look good in a Star Wars hangar.

The bunks, the bunker, the HQ, the 3 story mud building, the bridge, the locker, the hedgehogs (!!!!!!)... There's TONS of stuff in PTE's line that I find a solid use for anywhere I possibly can.

Big Lots has a 20% off total purchase today and tomorrow. There's still some
PTE 1:18 on the shelves.

It's that time of year again. Anyone spotting any new PTE at Big Lots? Anyone looking for any of the old sets?

I was just thinking the same thing... Haven't seen anything yet, but then again, I've not been in a Big Lots since November. I have a hankering for some of the 1:6 figures...

I saw this posted on the OSW forum today from a member in New Jersey:

"Popped in to my local Big Lots today at lunch. They are redoing the Christmas aisles, but they put out their Power Team Elite figures. There were tons of 1/18th scale stuff (playsets, vehicles, figures, etc.).

In terms of 1/6, they had 2 different types of figures:

- parachute figures - Green camo and Desert camo BDUs with large "working" parachutes - $20 each
- basic figures - Airborne infantryman, Ranger, Navy Seal Special Ops, Navy Seal Tunnel Hunter, Parajumper, Peacekeeper - $13 each

Most of these are rehashes, although some of the head sculpts looked new to me (different ethnicities and head sculpts). The Peacekeeper is a figure I had not seen in these assortments before. He has the hooded jungle BDU with a blue helmet."

Something that I don't think has been mentioned here before that might interest you guys that are into modern armor is a vehicle that's part of the new 1:18 World Peacekeepers animated line. That's the AMB Combat Armored Vehicle in a blue paint scheme to match the other vehicles and the figures in the line. All of the rest of the vehicles in the line at the moment are fictional. The AMB is part of a sci-fi looking animated series but it's actually based on a real Chinese armored vehicle. It's obviously based on the ZZH-09 Armored 8X8 Wheeled Command and Communication Vehicle. As far as I can tell the ZZH-09 is a command variant of the ZBL-09 IFV. I haven't been able to find a picture of the real vehicle with a gun turret but it might exist. Also from the box images it looks like the turret deck pops off, though I have no idea how much detail is underneath that section.

Here's a link to the product section of the World Peacekeepers website where the vehicle is shown: http://www.worldpeacekeepers.net/index.php/en/products

And here's a link to The Fighting 1:18th website where there are more pictures of the vehicle: http://www.fighting118th.com/2014/12/31 ... cekeepers/

The first image below is from the World Peacekeepers website and the others are ones I borrowed from an eBay listing:

I just saw another post on OSW confirming that the Power Team figures are out at Big Lots but I don't know the location.
"Wife just sent me a text that the Power Team 12 inch figures are on the shelves at my local Big Lots. From the message she sent, the selection and price is the same as what Gregorbian posted.

Going tonight after work to check it out."

Big Lots in western PA put out at least part of this years PTE. I can recall 3 different Hummers and patrol vehicles, the bombed out building, and a bunch of the figures and accessories.

Went to the Big Lots that's closest to my house this evening and they had all the PTE items stocked. It's mostly a mixture of items we typically get, with a few surprises. My store had the following:

Various carded 3 3/4" figure packs
Entrenchment/bunker playset
Tent playset
Watch towers (desert and woodland)
Large Building Ruin playset tan/desert
Large Building Ruin playset gray (new item?)
Various Hummers
Chinese FAV
Desert Patrol Vehicle
Chinese APC
Chinese Type 98 tank (Cammo appears a shade darker than on previous releases)
Chinese Z-9 "Aerial Rocket Helicopter" (New version with the missile racks and rocket pods!)
Various single-boxed 1/6 scale figures (all repeats from previous years however with new body sculpts)
1/6 scale Paratroopers with working parachute (one in desert and one in woodland cammo)

The 1/6 figures, while rehashes of what we've gotten over the past years, mostly seemed to have different body sculpts, such as black male, hispanic male, white guy with mohawk, etc. Also fantastic to finally get the Z-9 Helicopter with the rockets and ordinance it should have!

I walked out with the new Z-9, one of the 1/6 scale paratroopers, and one of the single-boxed 1/6 figures. Over the next few days, I'll check a few more Big Lots in my area to see if the overall selection differs or if there are any other unique items.

Checked another Big Lots this morning. This particular store tends to have the best overall selection of PTE, at least in years past. Overall, same as everything I described in my previous post above, save a few new additions:

New variation of the Navy Seal RIB Boat with the control cab moved to the stern with a searchlight placed where the MG used to go.

New variation of the Littlebird, now sans miniguns and rocket pods.

I was very tempted by the RIB boat, but most of the pictures I can find of the vessel look more like the older PTE boat, so I held off. Further, I was first excited to see the Littlebird as I'd been wanting to get one, but then was disappointed that it did not include the weapons like the old version. Guess we got a trade-off between the Z-9 and that in terms of weapons :P

A few showed up here. Only thing I notice different was the Dolphin helicopter had missiles and rocket pods.

Saw some PTE stuff at my BL today. The only new thing really was that 8 wheeled amphibious buggy thing... Beyond that, it was SOS basically, and less than most of you have seen. I'd buy another bunker or two I think if I saw them, but none to be found here.

I don't know if there's anything new this year but there are reports that the Big Lots 2016 Power Team restock has started in some stores.

I did a bit of searching and I believe that this set is new (though not in stock at that location):

***edited*** There might be other new things on the Power Team website (I haven't kept up with their 1:18 offerings recently) but this is also new. Though I have no idea on where it might be purchased from:

After a bit of board searching, I noticed that the Quonset hut has already been discussed. It's possible that I missed it but I didn't see any mention of the SAM system. The SAM truck appears to be based on the Chinese HQ12 L/MRSAM system.

Checked a couple Big Lots stores in my area yesterday... It was pretty disappointing. One store had a bunch of the little amphibious ATV vehicles, the bunk and tent sets and several 1/6 figures. The other store had a few of the desert building sets, a Type 98 tank, bunk and tent sets, RIB boats, and a smattering of 1/6 figures. None of the carded figures or the medium-sized transport vehicles like the Hummers and FAVs. No aircraft. Usually both of these stores have large selections of PTE items. It is likely I'm a bit early (my post above from last year with the huge selection was from the end of September and we're not even in the middle of the month yet) but still it was a bit disheartening... I'll keep my hopes up for later in the month :D

Bringing up an old thread, but the other day on Amazon, I came across a toy line called “Click N’ Play Military” that is basically a rebranded version of the Power Team Elite World Peacekeepers line. They have all the usual items we typically see at Big Lots, save the Chinese vehicles. Same playsets, vehicles, figure packs, even the 1/6 scale figures that we’re all familiar with. There were some older sets like the Littlebird with rockets, the M1 Abrams, and the set with the M151 and the bridge. They also had the new Quonset Hut set for a lot cheaper than shipping from China. I wound up purchasing the Quonset Hit set and a Littlebird. It was interesting as the boxes are solid and now window boxes like the PTE items. Just figured I’d share this other source for PTE 8)

I would love the Quonset hut to show up at Big Lots. Last time I checked they had their version of the Blackhawk and Bunk sets....a very small selection so far. Hope to see a build up and new items for the Holidays.
